Communication DOES come first but your child/teen should know better because YOU raised them. That lady loves her child because of the way she was telling her right from wrong. but it was bad that she recorded it. But if you wanna clean up broken vases and stuff all day be my guess. i'm not. let your kids run over you You need help. My daughter doesn't run over me, I raised her properly. The belt is just a way some parents discipline their children. The belt is a short temporary pain. This video will never go away though and is emotionally scarring to the girl. It's a belt it didn't kill her and I don't know why she is crying so much. It's not like her daughter did something simple she posted nude pictures of herself online which is imo the worst thing that could happen in her life. Why did she stay there getting hit tho? Exactly! the WHY part is so important for kids, they cannot forsee the consequences that you can as a parent. Now you can choose to be reactionary and slap them cause they didn't know or were too naive or make sure you were a step ahead and made em aware before any of this could happen. I wasn't disobedient but i remember that my mom cleaned my room spotless and then me and my brother re-emptied the toys all over the floor, we got the same thing. except this parent went over the top I'm sure your daughter is a good girl. you wouldn't have to do that. i do think that a simple talk would be necessary. See that is the thing, I talk with her all the time about things. I dunno how it was in your household and with your parents but what you did as boys is boys like behaviour and child like behaviour to test the limits. In my eyes your parents choose a quick and temporary fix that added nothing to the understanding you should have between a parent and a kid. I just have other methods to keep her "in check" because I don't think she learns anything from me whooping her.
