Bigger Than Me is similar to Bon Appetit with the sound, a hit worthy song imo. Bon Appetit is a bop, I downloaded the solo version and use that instead of the album version Act My Age on the deluxe edition is a great bop, one of the best this era. She has not given up on the era even though it is a flop compared to her standards so that's what matter. There was no blockbuster lead single; CTTR was a mild hit peaking at no 4. The damage was done with the awful follow up single and the constant and repeated disses to Taylor Swift. Having read that the supposed 4th single is Save to Draft, then this album will go the way of Glory. There are two more potential singles imo: Roulette and the title track Witness. All of the other songs feel like filler and in general, the production of the album feels very dated. Not only that, I think she has alienated a lot of fans with her constant political talk. She isn't radiohead or Kendrick Lemar, shes a bubblegum popstar with a broad demographic that includes both democrats and republicans. Alienating half of your fanbase was never a wise business decision. There is a reason you didn't hear Taylor Swift say **** about politics during the election: she wants them coins coming in. That's why the critics and people in general accept it so easily. At least there's some risk on Witness. Taylor played it safe with her pop album, 'cause she's not interesting at all and doesn't have anything new to offer. She's just a cute blond star who wants hits (and the checks).
