This is kinda flying under the radar. 

But Maroon 5's success is starting to decline.

And i don't mean this in a "OMG I HATE THEM tHEYRE FLOPS WAY"

I just mean, numbers wise, they're kinda having an experience similar to katy perry.

 

Assuming "Dont Wanna Know" is to be their first single and "Cold" is their second.

Or as i've heard DWK is a buzz single and Cold is the lead

 

These songs have charted below the level of their eras since Moves Like Jagger in 2011

In the start their music was cool, now it's terrible

They're doing fine. Don't Wanna Know stayed on the radio for a good amount of time. Cold is pretty much a new song and I've listened to it a couple of times, it's still growing I think. Maps and Animals weren't that huge either if we compare them to Sugar, that's when I really lost my mind.

I don't really see how EVER single song they put out would just top the charts, it's like they didn't even try and it would be successful. I honestly haven't cared for their music for a long time.

I don't listen to them nor can I even name one of their songs but there's an over saturation of easily digestible and souless music pushing out all the artists. Even Gaga's hurt by it  I would say this is more of a reflection of the average music consumer becoming lazy with what they listen to

Not that it's wrong to just like good beats but people used to care about the effort that goes into making music. Years of practice and discipline, heart, soul, a quick mind and an even quicker pen...now some random DJ can splice together a few sounds on a computer and it'll hit #1 and stay there.

I sound like a grandpa but man...music today

I remember Adam Levine one time trashing some band or artist saying 'they play generic sh*t and pander to the radio' and the irony (or hypocrisy) was wild in that phrase. 

I don't get how anyone can like Maroon 5 post-2004. It's just been generic, radio-packaged non-sense. And that one video of them looking like Fruit-of-the-Loom commercial actors in fruit costumes? Embarrassing.

It's so bizarre cuz i so remember being on here in like 2014/2015 and it was being discussed how Katy and Maroon 5 could release anything and get a massive hit. Like they were unstoppable (commercially). And now here we are in 2017...
