âI took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary,â Swift muses, and it sounds like satire. This is your songwriter of the century? Open the schools. Aside from the Puth nod, which I can only discern as a joke, I think Antonoff should stick to guitar-playing. Get that man away from a keyboard, Iâm begging you. and rows of variant LP copies will haunt the record aisles of Target stores just as long as Midnights hasâif not longer. This album and its hackneyed grasps at relevance exist as âDid I just hear that?â personified, but in the most derogatory sense of the notion. But, you cannot write about someone being a âtattooed golden retrieverâ and get away with it and still retain your title as the best songwriter of your generation. You just cannot. The billionaire is having an identity crisis, but there are no social media apps for her to buy up. So she sings like Lana Del Rey and writes meta-self-referential songs about looking like Stevie Nicks. she, too, canât outrun the damning fate of being plum out of ideas by hopping in her jet and skirting off to God knows where. See you at the Grammys.41 points

American businesswoman Taylor Swift has just released her new album called "The Tortured Poets Department" breaking records left and right, the 34-year-old queen of multiple album variants has received mixed to positive reviews and Pitchfork decided to give the album 6.0 points on their review, this places it below the pediatric icon "Peppa Pig" This did not go unnoticed by the 4 year old pork; the pink swine decided to post a picture comparing both reviews. It seems that the battle between these two to reach the children's audience with their lyrics has barely begun. Which album do you think is better?40 points

DO NOT POST ANY LINKS OR REQUEST TO DM YOU. There's a rumor floating around that a gay fan made his way to DJWS' stolen laptop using Gr*ndr and there's stuff leaking soon. ARTPOP sessions, Act II unreleased and Born This Way stems. Most likely fake of course BUT there's an audio out there with Gaga talking about the recording of the title track and singing. You know where Two lookX!37 points

Neil Tennant has hit out at Taylor Swift, claiming her music doesn't come close to music by the likes of Michael Jackson Speaking at the Guardian Live event âAn Evening with Pet Shop Boysâ in London on Monday, Tennant said he couldnât entirely understand Taylor Swiftâs popularity. He noted that Swiftâs music fell short of his expectations for an artist of her success level and claimed her discography didnât stand up to those of pop stars like Michael Jackson. âI was looking at the chart today and it is all Taylor Swift. She sorts of fascinates me as a phenomenon because she is so popular. But then I listen to the records and I think, âWhere are the famous songs? What is Taylor Swiftâs Billie Jean?â Shake It Off? I listened to that the other day and it is not Billie Jean, is it?â He added he likes Swiftâs music because it âbrings people togetherâ but âthe one disappointing thing is the music, not the lyricsâ. Tennant also critiqued Swiftâs practice of drawing inspiration from her love life for lyrics. âTo have a successful pop career now you have to have a series of relationships, which are amazing and then break up tragically,â he said. source35 points

No. This level of "success" happens for those who make art deemed safe and palatable enough for grandparents/young children to consume. The sex, violence, and satire Gaga has been putting out from the start capped that off and the performance art quality alienates a large portion of the gp that's left. I'm (happily) surprised she got as popular as she is.35 points

âTo a Melbourne audience of her Eras Tour, Swift said that âThe Tortured Poets Departmentâ came from a âneedâ to write. Itâs just that maybe we didnât need to hear it.ââ35 points

I've been saying this, it absolutely is essential to her musical legacy, particularly for this decade 2020-2030. As someone who believes she should be in the same lane as today's modern day supremes (Bey and Tay), it is very frustrating to watch her take a back seat for so long and allow her voice to be so absent from musical pop culture. I fully agree it's a make or break - and I hate to admit sometimes I feel like she has already waited too long. If she comes back FULL SWING, she can do it. But right now I can't believe it's nearing the end of April and we still don't have any real info. We need a BTW level era to bring us back.34 points

Margot has reportedly warned her friends to keep Shakira away from her or she fears there may be a clash of words. The Hips Donât Lie singer recently said that her sons - Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9 - "felt it was a little emasculating." "I like pop culture when it attempts to empower women without robbing men of their possibility to be men, to also protect and provide," she added. "I think that men have a purpose in society and women have another purpose as well. We complement each other!" "Margot doesn't appreciate the nasty things Shakira said about the film," the insider told the National Enquirer. "She worked very hard on it and is proud of all the attention it received." "Margot can try to cast it aside as jealousy, but it still stings," they added. "The two have some mutual friends. Margot's warning them she'd better not run into Shakira or she'll give her a piece of her mind!" The Babylon actress also thinks Shakira has been "brainwashed by the patriarchy." source source31 points

What the actual fĂșck are performers who are chronically late doing backstage. Like what else does she have going on in her life that requires her to put off doing the thing she's getting paid an exorbitant amount of money to do, for people paying exorbitantly more to be there than they should.31 points

After ARTPOP (messy era), Joanne (toned down era) and Chromatica (empty era) I feel like the next era will be very decisive for the future of Gaga's music career and her relationships with her music fans. Over the years I can't help but notice that fans are becoming less supportive of her choices and the next era could very much be the ending point for a lot of fans.31 points

It's not a very unique song idea and both sets of lyrics are pretty basic lol It's like drawing a comparison between a bologna sandwich and a ham sandwich, both made on white bread with that horrible plastic looking American cheese and too much mayonnaise to be considered reasonable30 points

So Tonyâs estate auction was today and I won this historic photo set of President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Gaga, Tony and his wife Susan that was personally signed by President Obama thanking Tony for his performance with Gaga at Obamaâs inauguration ball in 2013! It also has the official White House disclaimer on the back with the time stamp and photography credit for famed White House photographer, Pete Souza. My two loves are Gaga and politics so this is the perfect fusion of both!24 points

In my view the fact she wrote a very thinly veiled song attacking Kim Kardashian, saying her children would be singing Taylor's songs and also saying Taylor's mom wished Kim dead, is just. Are you in your mid 30s or are you 15 still? Get a grip.24 points
