  3. I've been saying this, it absolutely is essential to her musical legacy, particularly for this decade 2020-2030. As someone who believes she should be in the same lane as today's modern day supremes (Bey and Tay), it is very frustrating to watch her take a back seat for so long and allow her voice to be so absent from musical pop culture. I fully agree it's a make or break - and I hate to admit sometimes I feel like she has already waited too long. If she comes back FULL SWING, she can do it. But right now I can't believe it's nearing the end of April and we still don't have any real info. We need a BTW level era to bring us back.

  4. After ARTPOP (messy era), Joanne (toned down era) and Chromatica (empty era) I feel like the next era will be very decisive for the future of Gaga's music career and her relationships with her music fans. Over the years I can't help but notice that fans are becoming less supportive of her choices and the next era could very much be the ending point for a lot of fans.

  6. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary,” Swift muses, and it sounds like satire. This is your songwriter of the century? Open the schools. Aside from the Puth nod, which I can only discern as a joke, I think Antonoff should stick to guitar-playing. Get that man away from a keyboard, I’m begging you. and rows of variant LP copies will haunt the record aisles of Target stores just as long as Midnights has—if not longer. This album and its hackneyed grasps at relevance exist as “Did I just hear that?” personified, but in the most derogatory sense of the notion. But, you cannot write about someone being a “tattooed golden retriever” and get away with it and still retain your title as the best songwriter of your generation. You just cannot. The billionaire is having an identity crisis, but there are no social media apps for her to buy up. So she sings like Lana Del Rey and writes meta-self-referential songs about looking like Stevie Nicks. she, too, can’t outrun the damning fate of being plum out of ideas by hopping in her jet and skirting off to God knows where. See you at the Grammys.

  13. No. This level of "success" happens for those who make art deemed safe and palatable enough for grandparents/young children to consume. The sex, violence, and satire Gaga has been putting out from the start capped that off and the performance art quality alienates a large portion of the gp that's left. I'm (happily) surprised she got as popular as she is.

  14. “To a Melbourne audience of her Eras Tour, Swift said that ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ came from a “need” to write. It’s just that maybe we didn’t need to hear it.”’

  15. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS OR REQUEST TO DM YOU. There's a rumor floating around that a gay fan made his way to DJWS' stolen laptop using Gr*ndr and there's stuff leaking soon. ARTPOP sessions, Act II unreleased and Born This Way stems. Most likely fake of course BUT there's an audio out there with Gaga talking about the recording of the title track and singing. You know where Two lookX!

  16. American businesswoman Taylor Swift has just released her new album called "The Tortured Poets Department" breaking records left and right, the 34-year-old queen of multiple album variants has received mixed to positive reviews and Pitchfork decided to give the album 6.0 points on their review, this places it below the pediatric icon "Peppa Pig" This did not go unnoticed by the 4 year old pork; the pink swine decided to post a picture comparing both reviews. It seems that the battle between these two to reach the children's audience with their lyrics has barely begun. Which album do you think is better?

  18. Obviously ASIB was a cultural moment but was sort of lightning in a bottle and ROM was a nice sized hit, but realistically Gaga hasn't been at the forefront of pop music since the build up of the ARTPOP era. She has created a nice legacy and her career is in a good position in that she can do music, jazz, movies, concerts, makeup, and find success in it. But as a leading force in pop music, she has been an afterthought. And that's normal. Beyonce was too with those late 2010s projects and then came back with Renaissance. Madonna came back with ROL and then against with COADF. Whitney was probably in a similar situation as LG doing movies and other stuff but came back with MLIYL. I feel this era is important in bringing her back to relevance and the conversation of pop music as opposed to being just a legacy artist. Agree?

  19. Margot has reportedly warned her friends to keep Shakira away from her or she fears there may be a clash of words. The Hips Don’t Lie singer recently said that her sons - Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9 - "felt it was a little emasculating." "I like pop culture when it attempts to empower women without robbing men of their possibility to be men, to also protect and provide," she added. "I think that men have a purpose in society and women have another purpose as well. We complement each other!" "Margot doesn't appreciate the nasty things Shakira said about the film," the insider told the National Enquirer. "She worked very hard on it and is proud of all the attention it received." "Margot can try to cast it aside as jealousy, but it still stings," they added. "The two have some mutual friends. Margot's warning them she'd better not run into Shakira or she'll give her a piece of her mind!" The Babylon actress also thinks Shakira has been "brainwashed by the patriarchy." source source

  20. Courtney Love positively hates the idea of Taylor Swift. ‘Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.’ And she’s even tiring a little of Lana Del Rey: ‘I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off. Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much.’ And as for Madonna, ‘I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me. 'I like the idea of BeyoncĂ© doing a country record because it's about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don't like her music.’

  21. What the actual fĂșck are performers who are chronically late doing backstage. Like what else does she have going on in her life that requires her to put off doing the thing she's getting paid an exorbitant amount of money to do, for people paying exorbitantly more to be there than they should.

  32. So Tony’s estate auction was today and I won this historic photo set of President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Gaga, Tony and his wife Susan that was personally signed by President Obama thanking Tony for his performance with Gaga at Obama’s inauguration ball in 2013! It also has the official White House disclaimer on the back with the time stamp and photography credit for famed White House photographer, Pete Souza. My two loves are Gaga and politics so this is the perfect fusion of both!

  34. In my view the fact she wrote a very thinly veiled song attacking Kim Kardashian, saying her children would be singing Taylor's songs and also saying Taylor's mom wished Kim dead, is just. Are you in your mid 30s or are you 15 still? Get a grip.
