Perez Hilton allegedly harming himself in his Miami home sparked a flurry of calls to local police, who decided to disengage with Hilton while they monitor the situation. The Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office told Newsweek that the office received "multiple calls" about an individual livestreaming acts of self harm. Deputies were dispatched to Hilton's house and spoke with family members who were on scene. Deputies confirmed Hilton was alone inside and decided to "tactically disengage" while they continue to monitor the situation. "In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication. Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public," the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office told Newsweek. The video, which Newsweek will not share, showed Hilton cutting himself and covered in what appeared to be blood. She's very clever and efficient. She can write amazing hooks and really smart wordplay. That said, I do think her storytelling in the past few years could use some love. Some of the concepts feel a bit surface-level, and I wish she'd push her ideas further. She's sometimes a little too efficient in her songwriting; for someone who used to be such a maximalist, she's so edited and curated now I've been missing her twisted sensibilities a bit. Songs like Hold my hand, Shape of a Woman, and even some songs on Mayhem are very straightforward, I miss the half psychotic sick hypnotic and the skeleton guns of it all you know?

I don’t care for him as a person due to the things he’s said and done, but even still, my heart does go out to him and especially his children. To be in such a mindset that this seems like a worthwhile option is somewhere I’ve been and I don’t want anyone to go there. I’ve unfortunately seen the photos and videos on socials (by accident) and however bad you think it is, it’s worse. This is a level of self harm that absolutely could kill him, if it hasn’t already. He was completely covered in blood all over his body and the knife was massive, I am wishing him all the hope and healing in the world. If he pulls through, I hope he gets the help that he needs. I hope his family, especially his kids, do as well.
