This era has been a long and successful one for her career. I have noticed she has been trying to close the door on this chapter (her own words) and I feel like it is to show a clear cut separation from an upcoming era. Maybe I am delusional but she does not like to mix her eras together and likes to have stark visual differences between her eras and I think this is her saying "Mayhem is done, moving on to something else." Otherwise, promoting that an album is dead seems like the wrong move.29 points

June 5, 2026 https://store.taylorswift.com/password Fans noted that the release date for “Toy Story 5,” June 19, coincides with the anniversary date for Swift’s first single release, “Tim McGraw.” And the singer has said that she has a “Taylor’s Version” edition of her debut album in the can that she planned to still release someday. Swift reunites with her frequent collaborator and prolific producer Jack Antonoff for the single, which is “inspired by the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl Jessie’s ongoing journey in Toy Story 5 that began back in Toy Story 2,” according to a release. The song has been described as a return to Swift’s country roots.27 points

I imagine she’ll go in a dark/goth direction for her next one. She typcially follows Gaga’s aesthetic an album behind at a time. witness = ARTPOP Daisies (which branched off into Smile) = Joanne 143 = Chromatica25 points

It’s targeted promo it’s smart. Y’all obsessed with “organic” when labels whole job is to find promo and marketing opportunities so the intended audience finds the album. Stop dragging an artist for promoting her work to her fanbase.24 points

Words can’t explain how sad i felt seeing this. Mayhem will forever be etched into my soul. This era has been unforgettable. She seems to be making sure that we damn well know that the era is finished Looking forward to her next chapter for her (Marriage and a Family)22 points

The whole thing with people constantly attaching the word 'solo' to Gaga's achievements is getting rediculous. I never see any other fanbase do that. Nobody cares about that, but LMs really got themselves gaslighted by some haters.18 points

In any variation and in any wig, that color especially with the red or dark purple lipstick looks so DIVINE on her. One of her most instantly recognizable and iconic looks!18 points

His current music 100% matches an evolutionary vibe from Mayhem. It’s analog synths, Rock vibes, some NuDisco vibes. Vocoders, vocal manipulation filters and transitions and style merging.17 points

The board of Universal Music Group has rejected an unsolicited $64 billion takeover offer from Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital, the company announced on Friday. The move comes a day after key shareholder Vincent Bollore urged UMG to reject the offer. The “Board of Directors has unanimously determined that the unsolicited and non-binding proposal it received from Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. on April 7, 2026, is not in the best interests of UMG, its shareholders, artists, songwriters, employees and other stakeholders,” the announcement reads in part. The offer included about $10.9 billion in cash, plus additional stock that pushes the total consideration to about $35 a share. Pershing Square said that UMG’s stock has been undervalued because of uncertainty around the company’s ownership structure and around UMG’s stake in Spotify, and by the company’s delay of its planned stock listing in the U.S. Ackman previously struck an agreement with the company last year to establish a secondary listing in the U.S. in addition to its primary home on the Euronext Amsterdam listing. https://variety.com/2026/music/news/universal-music-group-rejects-bill-ackman-takeover-bid-1236762471/17 points

6 years ago today (May 29th) Lady Gaga released her 6th studio album “Chromatica” featuring the #1 and GRAMMY winning smash hit “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande. The album gets a lot of flack amongst fans but let’s celebrate the album for how fun it is and it marked Gaga’s return to her dance music roots. Inspired by early 90s House and featuring the then-viral “Chromatica II into 911” trend that was happening on TikTok in lockdown. It also spawned the Chromatica Ball Tour that made Gaga have the desire to return to Pop music properly (for Mayhem). What’s your favourite moments and memories of the album? What’s your favourite tracks?17 points

Mayhem seems is officially over, and while its always sad to end an era, I have mixed feelings of joy this time, and thats because for the first time in 15 years (since Born This Way Era), I actually feel satisfied with the era and I am ok with it ending it here as it is We got 4 singles, 4 music videos, Several interviews, Tv Performances, Chart Success, 2 major cameos, a huge tour with minimal cancellations etc plus Gaga seemed genuinely happy Every era has had some of the above, but never all of the above in abundance at once, at least not since like 2011. The era slayed, it did not feel short or rushed like they gave up on it after 2 singles and 3 months with best case scenario a 3rd music video that wasnt even a single. I think thats what really ruined my excitement for past album cycles. Promo and era just died so fast. Its like they released a couple singles, did a couple interviews or tv performances and kinda called it a day. Between ARTPOP and Chromatica I always felt unsatisfied at the end. Like we needed at least 1 more single, or a few more promo slots or events. Anything to have era feel more complete and eventful. Everytime it ended I was like "thats it? Oh man another short era they gave up on right away" This time we experienced a long and exciting era with one event after another which we hadnt had in a decade and a half! I hope we get more of the same in the future. This was great16 points
