  3. I don't understand why people say that Abracadabra is the only song that harkens back to her "signature style". To me, every song sounds like classic Gaga, even the less popular ones like Don't Call Tonight. Gaga is a multi faceted artist and she's at home in a plethora of genres. I dont get why people try to place her in a synthpop shaped box when she's done so much more from the very beginning of her career ALSO If the whole thing was dark industrial electronic pop, y'all would have complained that it's repetitive. We have 3 disco funk songs (Zombieboy, TDD and Kill for Love) and that's too much for some people. The first 4-5 songs stand out because there is contrast on the album.

  4. i really admire how she fully commits to doing a true world tour and to visit the markets where she knows she has fans and is appreciated. The tour has been a relative success despite the commercial underperformance of her album, and it's because she didn't give up on this era. Gotta hand it to her, girlie works hard

  10. The book has been officially delivered Thank you again to my bestie @ChicaSkas and the talented @antonique (for the third time I think? ). It was seriously great working on this project with the two of you. Rallying our little pocket community and transferring the devotion, stories, and love of GGD's Monsters to the page for Gaga to physically hold in those talented hands of hers is probably the coolest thing I've ever been a part of. And thank you to the 100+ people that sent a letter. I hope our stories find a permanent place on Mother Monster's bookshelf I love you all!

  11. I love it all. And anyone who feels like the rest of the music isn’t signature Gaga music is clearly discounting the vast majority of her catalogue. For every Poker Face, there’s a Money Honey and The Fame (the song). But I also could use more Abra and Disease like music.

  18. Taylor Swift will be returning to the big screen in October. She’ll be seen in thousands of theaters not with a traditional feature film, but with an 89-minute “release party” event, “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” starting on Oct. 3, the same day that her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” comes out. The “party” — a sort of mass version of one of Swift’s vaunted “secret sessions” album events — will run in cinemas on Friday through Sunday of Swift’s album release weekend. Locations will include all 540 AMC Theatres locations, in keeping with the superstar’s ongoing deal with AMC Theatres Distribution to handle her big-screen product. It will also roll out in thousands of non-AMC locations in North America as well, including Cinemark and Regal theaters. Screenings will begin simultaneously across time zones at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT on Oct. 3. The first and foremost attraction for many Swifties will undoubtedly be the premiere of the first music video from the new album, for the song “The Fate of Ophelia.” Other elements in the program’s promised 89-minute running time will include footage shot behind the scenes at the “Ophelia” video shoot, lyric videos for other songs on the album, and Swift’s “never-before-seen personal reflections” about those new songs. The film will be specially priced in theaters during its Oct. 3-5 run, at $12, before any added online booking fees. (Although 13 has long been notable as Swift’s self-proclaimed lucky number, “12” has taken on larger meaning in her “Life of a Showgirl” era: it’s the singer’s 12th album, and it contains 12 songs.) Tickets go on sale today at (when else) 12:12 p.m. ET. As for the international rollout, the program will be seen in more than a hundred countries outside the U.S., albeit not all simultaneously. Quite a few territories will get the “release party” concurrent with its Oct. 3-5 U.S. release, including Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for showtimes in those countries will go on sale this coming Tuesday. Other countries not included on that list will get the film on a later weekend in October, to be announced on or around Oct. 3.

  25. Gaga’s “The Dead Dance” for Wednesday is such a fun surprise, with a great disco-influenced feel. She is unbelievable. Every one of these songs that we ever made together, the concepts are so effortlessly her. Lady Gaga, “The Dead Dance.” It’s just such a her concept. Because of the title and the way that she was singing, the production morphed and shifted a lot. We worked very hard on that production to make it sound original and also feel like something that you could really dance to. What I really love about that song is the live instrumentation mixed with the track instrumentation. There’s some really good bass in there and cool guitar inversions and stuff and great synths and the way everything works together. I remember when we were making that bridge, that’s where it got really funky. “Do the dead dance” — that was invented from the bridge music. That was a big telltale for the song. And then everything got morphed around that. https://x.com/RollingStone/status/1969089483371917363?t=zzHCc3EskxW1s8B2A5HseA&s=19

  26. What happened? In her prime, she was propped up by a massive ‘machine’ with great songwriters, stylists, promotion, and lots of investment from her label. Now, without the same team, she’s been left to her own devices regarding direction, music, style, vocals etc… Hence all the missteps. This only brings to light what many of us knew back then… she got lucky at the start of her career and ultimately just isn’t talented… It takes raw talent, like Gaga’s, to build yourself back up, when ‘the machine’ is gone. Gaga did that, through sheer hard work, with Joanne, Jazz, ASIB music, acting, touring. Katy is just not talented enough or enough of a hard worker to do the same. She is condemned to be a has been.

  29. CEO Michael Rapino and Smith Entertainment Group CEO Ryan Smith said this week that live events are more central than ever to culture and commerce in a post-pandemic world. According to Goldman Sachs, the live music industry is expected to grow at a 7.2% compounded annual rate through 2030, fueled by Millennials and Gen Z. Smith bought the NBA’s Utah Jazz in 2020 and launched a new NHL franchise in the state in 2024. “In sports, we’re really media companies,” Smith said. “We’ve got talent, we’ve got distribution. We’re putting on a show or a wedding or something every night.” Rapino also emphasized how the economics of music have shifted. With streaming revenue dwarfed by touring income, live shows have become a primary source of revenue for artists. “The artist is going to make 98% of their money from the show,” he said. “We just did Beyonce’s tour. She’s got 62 transport trucks outside. That’s a Super Bowl she’s putting on every night.” Despite headlines about rising ticket prices, Rapino argued that concerts are still underpriced compared to sporting events. “In sports, I joke it’s like a badge of honor to spend [$70,000] for Knicks courtside,” Rapino said. “When you read about the ticket prices going up, it’s still an average concert price [of] $72. Try going to a Laker game for that, and there’s 80 of them [in a season].” The cost of admission for movies, theaters and concerts rose 3.4% in August from a year earlier, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer price index data, outpacing the full index’s increase of 2.9%. Meanwhile, the cost of admission for sporting events last month fell 0.5%, compared to the same time last year. Rapino also said technology, including AI-driven ticketing, could make buying tickets smoother. “Most websites are going to be challenged in the future, as you’re going to use that chatbot,” Rapino said. “We think ticketing, and how you find that ticket and how you can get that ticket, needs to be improved.” https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/17/live-nation-ceo-demand-concert-tickets-underpriced.html

  33. People need to understand LATAM doesn’t have the infrastructure nor professionalism to bring these massive artists. And I say that as a Latin American myself who works in the business. A lot of the times countries simply do not have the state of the art equipment that make up these huge stages, and renting them is expensive, or the artist has to bring them (which cuts profit). That’s why we usually get modified and watered down stages, because it’s the only way to put the show without losses. Then you have the fact that LiveNation doesn’t exist here, or representation is much more limited than other countries, so they have to find local production companies to put on the show, and that’s where lack of permits, delays and **** happens, because we just don’t have the qualified personnel to handle it all. There’s little music industry down here that isn’t local acts with small performances, so it really REALLY is hard to bring these A-list stars while keeping the integrity of the show intact. And taxes here are crazy. In my country the artist has to forfeit like 30% of the tickets just to play here. It’s simply not an attractive place to play from the business aspect. Now, would it have been nice for Arianna to foot the bill herself or play at a loss? Yes, but at the end of that day it’s still a business to her and her partners, and it makes no sense to spend 2 Million dollars in shipment and putting on the show if your profit is going to barely let you break even or even lose a few thousand bucks.

  41. I understand the frustration, but I hate the entitlement. She doesn’t need a reason as to whether or not she wants to/is able to tour somewhere. The “to you, we don’t even exist” is crazy. It’s entertainment, not a necessity.
