It's very psychological. If somebody in the house is evoking anger in the viewers with their behaviour, it causes people to vote to get them out because it's the viewers way of punishing them. But if it's vote to save, it causes the viewer to think 'Wait, I should save this person because the other person who is nominated isn't interesting enough for me to pay money to save'. A classic case of how the 'Vote to Save' makes a difference is Deana in Big Brother 12. The most nominated housemate of all time, facing eviction every week, and yet every week she was saved and managed to get to the final and finish in the top 3. It's made a difference for years and years, dating back to even on Channel 4 when randomly some weeks they would have Vote to Save for no apparent reason. For example, in Big Brother 10 there was one week where all housemates faced eviction, a brand new housemate named Hira, who was very sweet and uncontroversial, was evicted because she had the least number of votes. That meant that housemates which were far more argumentative and hated by the public had been saved by public votes. The 'Vote to Save' system makes sure that the most controverisal and polarizing characters stay until the end. I think she's just a very confused girl who doesn't really know who she is. As Toya put it on BBBOTS, "Honey she didn't kill nobody!", so regardless, I still love her! Ashleigh is ready to flip out omg, and I can't wait. Really hope she does us proud and takes down Helen. The anti-Helen Messiah is here gurls!
