So wait... 2.3 MILLION in only SIX MONTHS is a flop? I disagree tbh...

Actually Billboard didn't say anything about that  :awkney:

IFPI said it and IFPI always gives shipments. Didn't you realize that other albums like Katy's one and others were overstimated too ?

2,300,000 copies sold worldwide with 690,000 copies in the US (=30%) is impossible, clearly

Born to Die sold 5 mln+ WW, and only 1 mln in the US = 20% :ohwell:

Fans expectations are ridiculous. They hold Gaga to an insane standard and all that does is make them constantly unhappy.

Or some of them enjoy the drama and constant negativity, which I suspect to be true for a good portion of this online fanbase.

(not including the obvious trolls...even the ones that think they are sneaky and fooling people)

Many others have missed out on a lot of fun and enjoyment from the music and the performances over the years, because they buy into these senseless Pop girl wars. That shiit belongs at sites like ATRL, not on a fanboard! I can see why many fans decide to just do twitter, to control their own experience. The only thing that is sad about all of this, is that GGD is one of the first places new fans will find, when looking for a site to talk about Gaga. :smh:

:trootea: You spill too much tea tbh, it should be illegal.

She's sold 1.7 million to the public, 2.3 million to retailers

Not according to IFPI :ohwell:

IFPI said it has sold 2.3M. That 1.8M figure is from an unreliable user living in a basement who estimates his figures based on IFPI's own numbers.

I think from that you can reach your own conclusion as to who is more reliable :ohwell:

This. People talking about that 1.8 million estimate should just stop.

No way Katy's Prism only shipped the number on the IFPI report. She sold that amount.

The numbers from IFPI are sales, not shipments. Their report says that those numbers are the sales worldwide.

ARTPOP sold 2.3 million worldwide in 2013, and was in the top 10 selling albums (worldwide) of that year.

I just looked at IFPI and they say ARTPOP sold in 2013 already 2.3 m... that never happend, i'm pretty sure they are talking about shipment. It doesn't matter really that much, but it's just unbelievable.

Why is it unbelievable? Why can't this fanbase accept the non-biased numbers from a reliable source?

Excuse you but ARTPOP HAD THE GP TALKING ABOUT IT'S FLOP FOR LIKE THE WHOLE OF NOVEMBER + DECEMBER! All that was ever associated with Lady gaga was "ARTFLOP". It got people interested to see for themselves if it was a so called flop. Like how the Smilers had everyone interested in WB MV when they talked out Naked Miley. That's why it is so popular. Naked, licking a hammer and all the "bad" publicity Miley got from the VMA's she used to get more fame. Marketing genius. Like Gaga who used the publicity from the SXSW thing to announce a single, video and a possible continuation of her "flop".

As someone who constantly googles "Lady Gaga News" just to check out what the GP thinks I know what they talked about last year :miley:

But the point is, most of what you are considering "the GP", were in fact just Madonna and Katy stans. (along with many others.)

Mainstream music customers who don't stan for any artist in particular, but buy whatever is hot, aka THE GENERAL PUBLIC, did not even care about ARTPOP. Sure, some people who visit online news sites may have been talking about ARTPOP, but not in general.

ARTPOP stirred a controversy for its underperformance amongst the FAN BASES, and not the GP.

Yes it does, IFPI counts the label's sales, which is always retail sales, not public sales, you have to track mediatraffic etc to count those

Idk I think America's generic tastes recently show that Gaga wouldn't be more popular in the US than in Europe. ARTPOP is very European electropop

Those sales aren't for every country in which ARTPOP is sold.

Again, Mediatraffic doesn't count everything, it's a guy who makes some calculations...

Oh so I guess Gaga (who said it HERSELF) is an unreliable source? Don't think so sis
