IFPI has access to sales MediaTraffic does not :kissga:

Mess at people failing to understand this and hailing a guy in his mom's basement as more reliable than IFPI.

Mess :sharon:

But thos are official numbers from the sales companies of each country, theyre just as reliable as IFPI, whats more likely them, for the first time ever, reporting inaccurate figures or IFPI reporting shipments like they often do?

It's time to accept music will never sell as much as it used to- we're in the generation of illegal downloads :awkney:

This is so true. Sadly music will never sell like it use to like back in the old days. Now everyone has quick, free access to albums. And it can only get worse from here :(

MediaTraffic does not have sales from each country, they use statistics from IFPI, showing who is the more accurate of the two.

Let me ask this: Why have all fanbases including monsters always believed previous IFPI numbers but this time because everyone wants to see ARTPOP as a huge flop they are questioning IFPI's legitimacy? Why have I seen people even being delusional enough to say some IFPI numbers were real sales but ARTPOP's were shipments? It al boils down to one thing: people want to see ARTPOP as having sold less than it actually did.

DWUW got its #1's on iTunes from the preorder effect.

Yeah but unlike Venus and Dope DWUW stayed up there for 4 days, it didnt drop massively like Venus and Dope

This is so true. People on this thread don't wanna believe that ARTPOP is a success so they will make up the most rubbish theories. But with previous albums everyone believed IFPI. It's mostly this fanbase actually. So many people will never get over TF + TFM so they're just gonna deny all evidence. ARTPOP is a success. People won't believe it on this site from the looks of it.

Thank you

MediaTraffic NEEDS IFPI numbers for his work to even make sense yet IFPI have direct access to data! Theirs is the real deal!

Thank you. I'm happy to see that some people have a brain. I don't think they will understand...  :fail:

The truth is that ARTPOP didn't reach the expectations and when they saw a number higher than another, they take the higher one. But what they don't know is that it's completely incoherent and they're stubborn to understand...

Another proof that IFPI and others reported shipments is that according to them Born This Way sold 8M copies. This number is obviously shipments because it's written 6M copies on Gaga's website and this is the real number. The most funny in that story, is that Mediatraffic reported 6.1M copies for Born This Way in November which is really coherent and realistic to Gaga's numbers showed on her website during the BTWBall announcement in North America.  :teehee:

ARTPOP is not a flop. People just like to be negative and try to make it seem like one.

Cause PRISM had a preorder too.

Venus wasn't #1 in 90 countries like DWUW…

preorder effect kicked after DH and WOA release, hence why suddenly WOA hit #1. And when Venus was released, 1D had brand new song out bliocking cause their preorder effect was bigger. If they released it week before it would block DWUW not Venus

Yeah but unlike Venus and Dope DWUW stayed up there for 4 days, it didnt drop massively like Venus and Dope

It had commercial airing in US, and it did drop in 2nd day (actually first)

I don't know why you're still arguing it lol. Common sense should tell everyone that the 2.3M is what the label sold to retailers and not what retailers sold to consumers but the monsters always want the bigger number apparently.

Yes, you're probably right but they continue to say that it's copies sold by the public and it's not.

I just don't want them to spread a false information at all but they don't want to understand...

Unless you work for interscope arguing about sales vs shipments is pointless. It's all driven by Stan war bs and is of no use to a fan otherwise. You should be able to stand up for Gaga even if she sold 10 copies because sales are the least important thing for people that love her music and what she does.
