Lana barely ever cracks the top 40. Pop music is made for the masses, and Lana's music is for a targeted audience. You're clearly just trying to attach a label to her to in-turn bring her down, but it won't work. Her fans don't feel "special" or "alternative". They like her ****ing music. Get off your high horse and go watch Millie Brown throw up on Gaga so you can feel special and alternative. The Gaga shade wasn't needed at all. The original marketing campaign to "launch" Lana Del Rey was hilarious to watch. Let's just say, it took a lot of work to get this ship afloat. So yes, she easily meets all terms for being a pop star. As far as the music, it's a post-Adele world.
