Michael 533
The Fame Monster may have been out for almost half a decade, but there still seems to be some confusion and varying opinion on whether or not the release was an EP or a full studio album. Many people seem intent on referring to it as an EP, due to the fact that it has only 8 songs. This causes them to refer to Born This Way as her second album, and ARTPOP as her third. Before this goes on any longer, let's settle it with some cold hard facts. According to The Official Chart Company, stated in their "Rules of Chart Eligibility" document dated April 2013, any official music release which lasts a duration of any longer than 25 minutes not in maxi-single or remix-single format is an album. Any piece of music with more than one song that clocks in under 25 minutes is an EP. The Fame Monster is 34:15 long. This means that it is an album by 9 minutes and 15 seconds. Therefore, Gaga has released four studio albums to date. The Fame Monster being her second. I'm glad we cleared this up. http://c0903002.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/6915-official-uk-charts-album-chart-rules-april-2013.pdf

elijahfan 24,869
Well.... from what I understood: Interscope has released it as an EP, but Gaga does consider it as an independant body of work, aka an album. As Gaga's word is supreme and final in my mind, I do consider TFM as her 2nd album.

Fizzy 2,179
If it is to be considered an ALBUM due to its time duration then why did the OFFICIAL CHARTS themselves counted its sales together with The Fame and not seperate! It can be considered an EP in terms of the message encompassing a whole perspective of Fame relating to her first album and this being sn extension to that but carried out in a fashion that is in terms of a new era and album! “The scars on my mind are on Replay”
