VforVendetta 2,024
In the UK and Australia it might really help her because she's almost forgotten here. Don't think it'll help her image much in the US. @VforVendetta I agree so much. I've always complained about the boring chorus and how it gets nowhere. For the first day I even preferred Applause music video the GUY because the song holds it back. Then I loved the video more because of ARTPOP and Venus, now I'm back to Applause being my favourite Gaga video. GUY is really not to my taste. When it comes to single choices its not just personal taste. In my opinion Applause made the difference and even with all the negativity, hate and decline the song proved everyone wrong cause it wasa unique song and very different from everything or radio. The video of GUY is amazing but a video can't help a song that was big news in 2012. Like seriously GUY was one of the first songs Gaga hyped, its no wonder that its probably the most outdated on the album.

The chills I got when I first heard it :nooo: best lead single ever. If it wasn't for the hate and being overshadowed by Katy comparisons, Applause would have been so much bigger. Tbh, the album needed to be released much earlier that year. Shame about her hip. And I also agree about the video, I barely watch GUY, I think I've watched all other Gaga videos more than G.U.Y., which is a shame because the video is one of her strongest. The song makes me like it less.

Mills 446
^ For some weird reason, I'm also feeling the same towards G.U.Y. It's a good song, but compared to her previous AP singles, it's getting less addictive. And the more you listen to it, the more the interest or replay value lessens. The opposite applies to Applause and DWUW.

Bye 3,947
Birthday You could stan for Gaga once in a while, you know ^ For some weird reason, I'm also feeling the same towards G.U.Y. The opposite applies to Applause and DWUW. Agreed, especially with Applause that song is still fresh as fuk. DWUW is helped with the 3 versions we now have, apart from it being a masterpiece and hat it had a video it would have slayed more, possibly nearing Applause in the states, and eclipsing it worldwide. It would also have helped Gaga's image, there was no Katy to overshadow her, sure DH was coming but Uncle was the current single. I agree on everything! This. GUY fades away quickly.

craig 680
Can you imagine back in 2011 someone telling you that a future Gaga single would be sitting in the top 600 three weeks after its release? Nobody in 1988-90 expected Madonna, Kylie, or Paula Abdul to be selling as bad as they did in mid-90's either. Blaming Gaga is likely blaming a business person for selling less when their industry is in recession.
Dangerous Man 9,245
Well, this is just sad, but there is always something positive... MTN is not the worst charting Single anymore Gaga can still top that if she release Venus as the fourth single. :MANiCURE: "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." Nobody can say an artist is over because his/her album is underperforming... Madonna, Beyoncé and Kylie would be over many years ago...
