... the radio bias is real.  I AM PRAYING that there'll come a moment when radio will not be relevant.  Bastards.

Capitol just certified ALL Katy's singles in the US. She's the most certified artist now , with 72 platinum certifications. Interscope should do the same...... Capitol even updated the certification for 'Peacock' lol

Did they also get a wooden certification for those 100 copies sold of Katy's debut gospel album?

Wow Capitol really likes their statistics and stuff.... Oh well, interscope still has got more money from Gaga than Katy in her entire career I'm sure.

yup.  Let alone that Gaga's networth is far bigger than Katy's (probably twice as much)

Did Lana really sell 880.000 copies first week? (worldwide)

Where did you get that?

I don't think so, 180k in US, 20k in Canada, around 40k in UK right? No way...

Whispering

Its sales are estimated around 400k, more or less. And yeah, it's the lowest-selling single to enter the top 10 on Pop for this decade, as far as I'm aware of. Some songs, which have sold around 500k, such as Rixton's Me and My Broken Heart, have also entered the top 10 on Pop. It's currently at #7.

Misery, also a single by them in 2010 not peaking within the top 10 of the HOT 100, managed to score a #8 peak on Pop too. Both singles have yet to be certified as gold.

As far as I can find, this is correct. Even Bruno's Gorilla, which never made it to #10 officially on the CHR chart, managed to go gold.

All of Maroon 5's single since Moves Like Jagger have managed at least platinum.

As for digital sales back in 2007, the digital market wasn't the same for singles. There were less single downloads overall 7 years ago. It would be like comparing album numbers from 10 years ago to the numbers today. The digital singles market has steadily increased and the album market has steadily decreased over the last decade.

Whispering
Katy Perry: She rewrites Mainstream Top 40 chart history, as "Birthday" bumps 11-10 to become her 12th consecutive top 10 on the tally. As she extends her streak, she bests two artists who each previously sent 11 straight entries into the top 10: Mariah Carey (from the chart's 1993 inception through 1997) and Bruno Mars (2010-13). With 15 total top 10s, Perry ties Britney Spears for sixth-place among acts with the most such hits. Rihanna leads with 24, followed by Carey, P!nk, Justin Timberlake (17 each) and Usher (16). On the Hot 100, "Birthday" rebounds 22-19 after reaching No. 17.

Notice that this is after 1993. If you go back before that, Mariah's first 10 singles went to #1 CHR/Pop   and her first 18 singles went Top 10.
