OBEY

That's why I'd like to see a scenario where it was released as a first single. She would have overshadowed everyone else for another year or two  Adele who? (and I say the last part seriously, with TEOG's slayage and a great video BR/GUY style would have been unreal, there'd be no controversy, radio even in the bible belt wouldn't be hesitant to play it. It would have been doing better and better and better every day. Imagine the slayage of Happy. It would have been similar to that :gaga: )

Hair would do fine as a replacement to BTW's message.

TEOG is so amazing

Pure Adrenaline

Standout track =/= Successful single. Half Scheisse is gibberish, rough vocals and the lyrics don't even make sence + the word is explicit. Scheisse has everything that a song needs to flop. The fans confuse the good songs with the songs that are single material. The only place Scheisse could do well is as a lead single, nowhere else.

That didn't stop 90% of the songs that went #1 on the HOT 100 from going #1 despite having all those things u pointed , did they? Lgsput3.jpg

WAT :udidnt:

OMG where have I been :udidnt:

VforVendetta

What a ****ing BIG MESS.

You know, people keep saying Gaga needs to 'recover' towards the GP. DO YOU KNOW WHY THAT IS? JUDAS!

Judas hurt her career so much. These lyrics should NOT have been on the album. The instrumental is amazing, it's extremely catchy, but she lost so many fans and so much interest with that song.

The perfect era would've been:

1. TeoG

(promo single - Yoü and I)

-- album release one month after TeoG release --

2. Born This Way

3. Scheiße

4. Hair

If Hair went Platinum in the US, Australia, Canada and Gold in the UK, Japan, release:

5. Fashion of his Love

Possible promo single/video-only single:

Bloody Mary

I love Marry the Night, and if I were her manager back then I'd probably have released it as the lead single, but we now know that the GP simply did not like the song.

Scheisse is no single material, get over it. As for Judas I don't believe that a song can hurt someone's career especially when the Alejandro video has happened. In my opinion Gaga overdid it. The AO g had enough controversy on its own but Gaga kept asking for it. Also Gaga won't change her song to appeal to the GP, Judas wouldn't have been half a good song without these lyrics.

The religious groups would have still been all over it and since the religious references were clear for everyone to see even people who are Christian but not overly religious would be offended. I had "friends" who hate her just for Judas and they're far from being religious. The truth is everything is almost taken as an attack to a particular religion. Were the lyrics different Judas would have smashed hard, I remember loving it much more than BTW on first listen. I was slayed. The radio presenter that debuted the track first in the US (I listened to it live through the web) said this after playing Judas for the first time ever: WOW! And I remember that site (irrelevant i know) that said Judas was a masterpiece and anyone who thinks it's not better than bad romance is wrong. Another argument in favour of my opinion how much the media influences stuff. Judas ****ing slayed as a song. All the fans loved it. Now ask around, many would say they don't think much of it.

People hate Gaga for many things she has done, some of them hate her for Judas. Actually I think that Gaga overdid it, see what I wrote to Luc.

Judas is still one of her most known songs in Europe, or at least in Spain. I'm happy it was a single because we got an amazing video, and it's one of the best songs of BTW if not her career.

TEOG is so amazing

Still my #1 I think, although ARTPOP and Venus come close  But no TEOG is just godly

That's true, but from my experience (with DJs in clubs refusing to play it even after requesting Judas) I think that was one song that did the most harm. BTW too.

Edit: btw, I love Judas, from first listen it slayed my existence, I almost cried because when BTW was released I felt disappointed until I got over it. But Judas slayed me on first listen

Maybe one of these didn't stop SOME of them. All these combined make a commercial failure. Sheisse is perfect as what it is, an amazing album track,a gift to the fans. Some songs aren't made for the public and this is a good thing. The public can't appreciate things the fans can. You wouldn't like to see Scheisse have the fate of MTN and not only the commercial failure and the fact that the media would tear it apart if it flopped but also the negativity that surrounds this song from the fanbase.

Some things just shouldn't be done. Imagine if Katy released Peacock as a single...

There's barely anything wrong with the Alejandro video, tbh. And a video isnt as well-known as a song. I haven't ever seen somebody outside this fanbase complaining about the Alejandro video.

Caught my brother bopping to Venus today :whitney:

I kind of agree with you but I don't care. If Judas wasn't a single, we wouldn't have gotten one of her best music videos :ohwell: Was worth it :manicure:

Brought over from the US thread.

Actually, Scheisse's theme is perfectly understandable and simple, standing up for women's rights. Although I agree about Hair it deserved to be a single although my official BTW singles choice would have been this:

The Edge of Glory no Madonna comparisons, great power ballad loved by everyone. Amazing video, would have slayed as much as her previous lead singles if not more. #1 for more than 6 weeks.

Electric Chapel the sound is very BTW-ish relating to the album. It wouldn't do as good but coming off TFM and after TEOG slayage it would have done moderately well (think Judas how good it did WW and would have done if not for the controversy) and it would have shown some diversity and encouraged new fans. Top 10 for sure but wouldn't drop off like Judas.

Hair just after album release Hair is a perfect thematic song representing the album and people will relate its sound to TEOG, showing progression and continuity. Another Top 5 hit.

Heavy Metal Lover after those singles it would be time to go a little bit dirty and show off the flawless production. Would do great in clubs. Top 10.

Remember that even though some of my choices are risky I've avoided religious or damaging comparison controversies. Coming off TFM these would have slayed and shown how sonically diverse Gaga can be while still being on top.

I love your ideas, but no BTW as single? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

That's...just....:awkney:

Iconic

But I don't see what's wrong with Judas at all, and you can see it was a hit in non-English speaking countries

Religion suxx tbh
