That's the cycle of a long term artist. There are ups and downs and lots of in-betweens and there are some eras that are more successful than others. They will still make tons of money from the tour and merchandising...and money is money! Interscope isn't going to complain that it wasn't as much as last time. In a struggling music industry, Gaga is still one of their top selling worldwide artists, who is able to sell high priced tickets for arena sized (and some bigger venues) all over the world. And next to that, the biggest part of her success is in Europe all gays here are Lana stans Lana's audience is gay men and hipster girls in the USA Marina has the potential to honestly be the (more talented) Katy Perry due to her generally attractive look, as well as electropop sounds that are eclectic and combine lots of different influences When you look at it, she's kind of a Lady Gaga in her own right: constant reinvention as well as altering of sound to sound something like on the radio, but ironically, nothing like it as all Her team is probably waiting for her fanbase to grow, and after the huge growth of tumblr, her American fanbase has exponentially shot up Lana's sound will never REALLY be enough pop for her to amass Katy's sales or fanbase, simply because she can't really attract the older crowd as well and have AT40 hits, and straight men don't really pay attention to her much because she doesn't have.... larger proportions or skin tight attire (aside from hipsters) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

No, there aren't. That's why more artists don't do it. You have to sue your record label and they have far more money and access to a team of top lawyers than artists have. Not only do most of these suits ens up in a win for the label, they will draw out for years, which puts the career of the artist on hold. Plus, in most cases, it just makes the artist look bad to the public. You are wrong on this. Adele does not have the legal right to renegotiate her record deal in the middle of a contract without a major lawsuit. She is stuck with the contract she signed under, unless she wants to put her career on hold for a few years and bring public attention to a highly publicized fight with her label.
