On top of that, it didn't have any weekly sales past 90k, which is pretty embarrassing for a song crossing the 150m Al mark and will most likely go all the way to 200m Al and #1 on Pop. It is just now lagging behind its pop position, which is not anywhere close to the Birthday situation. I mean, TF is by far Gaga´s most girly album and also PRISM the KP´s and them both appealed relatively well (not quantitatively) for straight males whreas ARTPOP, wich, IMO, sounds more straight friendly failed to appeal to this audience. This logic can be applied to find out why Gaga´s popularity has decreased so much in US and others predominantly protestant countries like UK, Aus, not just because those r "anglophone", but mostly bacause their population, in general, are more conservative than in majorly Catholic markets. Don´t know about Europe, but here catholic people, in general, is way more open-minded than protestant, and the former less tolerant with gay people. That sad, cultural stuff (as in this case: religion) can explain to a certain why Gaga´s popularity wasn´t so damaged in Latin America/catholic/orthodox Europe than it was in US Actually Anglophone countries have been leaders in women's rights and gay rights, yet they have this stupid idea that pop and dance (performed by females) is for girls. He still has decent callout scores. People really need to stop claiming radio bias. I'm sure she'd do great if she went on a tour right now. Not every song goes #1 in Japan and hits 1 million sales there (unless you're AKB48). That's something that hadn't been achieved by a Western artist in about 4 years. That is 100% false though. TV is watched more than radio is listened to here, so I assume that the GP is aware of Shakira, especially considering I rarely watch TV and have seen her on about 5 commercials (most for this yoghurt drink) already. Bonnie McKee can say the same about American Girl. Katy's name gets support because she's been on a huge winning streak and DH was #1. I bet Birthday will underperform based on airplay and she won't have that privilege much longer. Uncle was the exact same situation after building the song to 80Ai they gave up but that didn't stopped them from making DH to 200+Ai and now even if they pull the plug off Bday they still will be keen on spinning her next single, but still Bday is getting 1/2 m updates every day so radio is not yet ready to give up on that song and no matter how bad Katy single will do it will always have more chance given on radio than Gaga song It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is the big injustice because all Katy's songs have big chances to become hits, even the songs that the public doesn't like while even Gaga's songs with huge hit potential are lost because they don't give them a chance.
