VforVendetta 2,024
A 2015 superbowl performance would be best. Along with the space performance, it'd do wonders for her next album. If the Space performance is as big promo as it sounds, I'd prefer the SuperBowl performance to be the following ar another year. A space performance and a Grammy performance would be more than enough imo.
Whispering 18,865
You can if you are Lady Gaga. Impact >>> Numbers imo. :P The US is different. You have to remember that. The US didn't care for Alejandro- especially the video and they strongly disliked Judas. Interscope was 100% right to pull that song as quickly as possible and release a nice, feel good HAC type song in its place. TEOG basically restored Gaga to a semi-decent state, during the BTW era in the US. That change over is one of the more significant moves in her career thus far. If they had continued to let Judas play out and then released another polarizing single after that (like so many fans think would have worked ), the BTW era would have died a failure in the US and the ARTPOP era would have started out with much more negative baggage going into the era, than it already had. TEOG is one of my favorite songs, imo it should have been even the lead single. I just Saud that that they should have kept Judas more, 2 weeks to one month. It wouldnt damage neither Gaga's career not TEOG and that way Gaga would have made a better TEOG video.

Eh, it always bothered me how Judas offended people. They didn't even give it a chance. Song really has nothing to do with religion, she just used religious characters to describe it. I can see why they released it as the second single, if you take the religious context out of the song it really had potential...whereas everything else on the album was more risky to debut as a single (Edge of Glory, You and I, etc). Wasn't there issues with the TeoG video though? I believe there was a different video at first but after something happened they rushed a new video And no, Judas any week longer would've damaged her career and the BTW era further. How much was it selling in its fourth week anyways? Like 50k?

It bothers me too, but Iggy Azelea described it best, it was something along the lines of 'youve got to keep it simple for the stupid people, they want stupid and meaningless songs'. When you listen to a song on radio, you're not going to hear all lyrics and get the meaning of the song (at least I never do). So you just assume things. And of course there was a lot of hype/controversy which caused people who didnt even listen to the song to hate her/the song too. They are able to be offended by so much, there was even a pretty big article with 18000 shares on a Christian news site about the GUY video, which would be offensive because of Jesus in it and her being ressurrected or something like that. edit: http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/watchman-on-the-wall/43521-lady-gaga-resurrects-jesus-in-soft-****-music-video

If they had more time they would have time to male a new full video and not the video we got. One week for Judas wouldn't have damaged more Gaga's career Ite not like the song banished after TEOG was released. Actually both songs devoured each other to some extend, TEOG Judas with strong sales and Judas TEOG with buzz and headlines around it.

Exactly. Stans think sonics (the actual sound of the song) overrides the message (or at least the perceived message). "Government Hooker and Scheisse would have slayed because they slay!" No. Just because something sounds great doesn't mean people are going to get over the fact that it's not at all speaking to their "I wanna get drunk in the club to this song or at the very least bop in my car on the way to work" sensibilities.
