If only they sold a special edition of the album at the tour venues .. It could help ARTPOP sell a bit more.. Anything is good atm  :toofunny:

It makes me cackle how you all think Birthday isn't going to perform well :lmao: It might be one of her biggest hits ever with that video, BM iT.

I love how a hit literally means nothing in the scope of things. We witnessed Miley Cyrus who struggled with Adore You after the massive hit that was Wrecking Ball, followed by Katy with both Unconditionally and now Birthday following Roar and Dark Horse which are both 5M sellers, and Pharell Williams with Marilyn Monroe following Happy and last year we had Give It 2 Me by Robin Thicke following Blurred Lines. :rip:

A MESS. Can no one maintain ANY momentum? I can bet you right now that Jason Derulo and John Legend's next singles will flop too.

Oh and we see it countless times with Rihanna. No need to even bring her up. :lmao:

More proof of how album sales are (unfortunately) totally irrelevant these days.

No one cares about the artist. They just care if it can entertain them for 3 minutes on their way home from work in the evening.

Billboard wouldnt count it, because they know that it will be easy for someone to report fake numbers.

Pure Adrenaline

You see polls like this http://popcrush.com/lady-gaga-vs-katy-perry-pop-clash-guy-birthday/ where 70% of the people entering the poll say they prefer G.U.Y over Birthday  but radio is spinning Birthday more and paying G.U.Y dust...

Maybe radio are waiting for the tour to start before they start pushing it.

lol these polls are visited only by fandoms and just a little bit of regular music listeners .... and since Katy's 'digital' fan base is a lot less than Gaga's it's not surprising that she is always losing in those polls or never gets awards when it's up to people to vote. But people who buy music right now and made her songs go #1 are not the same as those who answers the polls the GP is the one that is buying singles and that that's why radio keeps playing the same thing over and over because they please the GP not fan bases

It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely

Maybe Katy will have a real flop. Radio will help it.

Title        Spins     Spin     Aud     Aud+

Birthday  2402     +303   17.388  +1.842

:flop: right now radio is only helping GUY to flop :megaflop: and it's succeeding :megaflop:

The site is visited by the core-fanbase of pop radio: Pop fans.

Regular music listeners will lap up whatever they hear on radio, Katy had a strong radio presence during TD and that continued on for Prism. Radio has essentially chosen Katy's singles this era. They chose to play Dark Horse instead of Unconditionally, that early radio support is what made DH such a smash.

Radio is essentially advertising for pop girls. Sales go up when spins go up and spins go up when it seems like there is interest for the song. When people hear G.U.Y they generally have a positive response, more so then when they hear Birthday but for whatever reason radio seems to be holding back right now.
