Pitch 204
I want her to work with entirely new producers, i mean its time for her to move on from DJWS but if she picks either Madeon or Zedd as the main producer for the next album then her critical respect and popularity is gonna decrease further, critics dont really like EDM and its trend is almost over LADY GAGA/madonna/katy perry/little mix/ariana grande/selena gomez/britney spears/taylor swift
Slayer 9,227
I want her to work with entirely new producers, i mean its time for her to move on from DJWS but if she picks either Madeon or Zedd as the main producer for the next album then her critical respect and popularity is gonna decrease further, critics dont really like EDM and its trend is almost over this this this. She needs to keep taking chances with her producers, just like she's done with every album. Sometimes it's paid off, sometimes it hasn't. But either way, it keeps her from stagnating and never moving forward. And I agree, EDM is already sounding old. I'd really like for her to come up with a completely unique style of music that's still pop but unlike anything we've ever heard before. I believe she could do it. She is so talented and forward-thinking and I think she would be greatly rewarded if she took a huge leap of faith and started making truly experimental pop music (not just underground EDM that's only experimental when compared to chart music). I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
Ascetic 0
I agree.. and I've always understood she's an artist and she's going to explain her work, and that she doesn't want to sound like a machine-made artist... and even at times she explains her work as perhaps meaning more than it originally is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz4hBXzdWBQ But some interviews etc this era have been like the epitome of that - especially the culture show interview -.. presenting her work as 'art', and I ask myself how was it not art before? I think as this era comes to an end she's kind of relaxed about having to prove that.. at least some recent interviews seem; she explains her work and its context.. but isn't caught up in having to defend it was inspired by art and therefore ARTPOP. And about what you said about better promo next era.. well g0rllll.. without another DWUW -Venus is the single-wait no it's not- wait where is the video- situation .. I guess it's bound to be better maybe I hope not! The public was really annoyed with her trying to be "artsy" and presenting pop music as art because it doesn't fit the typical mold of art It was kind of a misguided era I feel because, yes, she's big, but with only three major albums, she really doesn't have the power nor place in pop culture just yet to go about trying to "revolutionize" pop by presenting art into the culture People aren't going to be here for it, she's still young and in reality. inexperienced

I think it was alienating to some.. And I know some people found presenting what she does in pop music as high art was pretentious. I feel like obviously a lot of people of people in pop history have been involved in art culture and created things of artistic credibility within pop - and I think Gaga has [and continues to be] artistic/creative in a way noone else really cares to be in pop - her peak in that respect during her peak in 2009/2010 IMO; with her collaborations with people so high up in the fashion/creative world.. therefore what she did seemed really considered, and of high integrity and quality, and definitely artistic - just her way of being so obvious about it this time round.. I don't think she needed fine art at all to prove she is art, or that her work has depth. I don't really see how referencing fine art is revolutionary - though I know she has the best of intentions with it, I guess she wanted to be 'educational' or make people see she considers these art inspirations in her work and that therefore she is of artistic credibility [iMO I think rather than insecurity..(though maybe there is some of that she feels she has to justify) this is more about living out a fantasy of being involved in the fine art world, after being obsessed with figures/work in it/the fine art world for a long time.. including how she adores Warhol]- .. I think she could have used Marina Abromovich/Koons/Rob Wilson in some more interesting ways.. [especially Rob Wilson.. I thought what they did was a bit too obvious] but she did at least use them for her .. basically.. statement of intent of using these other realms of art in pop Yeah, I do feel she has the best intentions with using these art realms.. but half of the era has been just justifying how 'art' aspects of this era are.. and I think that's what alienated people.. instead of letting her work speak for herself. I def respect her artistry.. and certainly not demeaning her intelligence - and this isn't to say I never/don't enjoy what she does - just my view on how things panned out.... Hedi 3
You and I share the same opinions honestly Maybe she'll prove us wrong with Act II? After 'Venus video is being shot by Ruth Hogben', 'there will be a new artrave poster', 'there will be a DWUW video' I'm still not 100% convinced there will be an Act II by 'strong possibility' it's coming out But - in terms of 'proving us wrong' - it seemed kicking out her management possibility was what lead to such an enjoyable video like G.U.Y. so maybe so! And I feel like after releasing G.U.Y. she didn't feel the need to justify it.. or prove it's anything in interviews.. she just explained it and it seemed happy .. so maybe she's more sure of herself now? Who knows
