Gaga has said numerous times that she did everything without asking her dad for help. Some of you guys look for every opportunity to call her out on something. Gaga has said numerous times that she did everything without asking her dad for help. Some of you guys look for every opportunity to call her out on something. No one is patronizing her rise to fame or questioning the fact that she struggled and worked hard to get to where she is. Gaga herself claims that she doesn't like to live in the lap of luxury and that she prefers to live in small apartments like the one she lived in when she was struggling to make it on her own. The only thing people are pointing out is that her very own claim seems to be falsified when we see that she lives in such a glamorous and prestigious apartment that even has a lineage of celebrity inhabitants (Liza Minnelli + Tony Bennett). It would be a different story if she didn't say that herself, but she talks down her residence in every single interview where it comes up and consistently claims that she prefers small danky apartments as opposed to large glamorous ones because the small snaky apartments help her keep an appropriate mind set and help her create more efficiently. ​Does that look like a small danky apartment to you? I don't think so. It's not even a big deal either; I don't think people really care that much if she blurs the lines between small and danky and large and glamorous - people are just joking because she says one thing but demonstrates another. I don't think they're saying that it devalues her hard work (or at least I hope that's not what they're saying ), but it's kind of odd to call her out on this of all things IMO. People change, their ideals change, and there's nothing wrong with changing your mind and treating yourself to nice things. She's down-to-earth despite all the luxuries, and it seems like she's still got many of the same old friends... In that sense, she speaks the truth.
