She wouldn't have made it in the first place if that was the case. I'm sure any issue with the DWUW video being released was all Interscope or management being scared off. Cuz regardless of what Gaga fans think about artistic freedom and exploiting s-x in order to make $, due to recent media coverage the public associates R.Kelly with child s-x abuse. i.e. peeing on a 13yr old girl. Anyone who thinks it would still be cool for Gaga to be seen crawling between R.Kelly's legs, deliberately looking like a teenager (because of Gaga's height and not wearing any makeup) is deluded; the media backlash would probably utterly destroy Gaga's credibility. F*ck the media and what other people say she should have released it from the very beginning and not cared about the backlash or what people thought. I admire when an artist stands behind the work and believes in it no matter how racy it might be. It could have been a lapse in decision making? It happens. The media is awful, I agree, but she doesn't need this type of controversy around her, it's only going to breed more negativity. Sure, the presence of R. Kelly and the message of the song is not lost on me, but she might actually lose fans from this. Plus it would negate the whole point of Swine and its performance in a way. In that video still Gaga does NOT look like a 28yr old woman - and most of the time she does! I asked friends who are not the least bit interested in Gaga and they all read that photograph as a man menacing a teenager. But, hey. We can agree to disagree.
