StrawberryBlond 14,881
There must be a reason why they've booked a stadium in a country that is famous for its negative effects of the recession. Outwith the Ottawa festival and Japan, this is the only stadium gig she's booked on the entire tour even though she's much more popular and has far bigger sales in much richer nations. So, it's my belief that her team know what they're doing here. They've had the BTWB to determine what works and what doesn't and have been playing it extremely safe so far this time around and this is the first risk they've taken so it must be for a reason. Remember how concerned we were when the Venezuela date for BTWB was exchanged in favour of Costa Rica? And there was only a week to go and sales were in the pits? But then, like, 3 days before the show, ticket sales took off and she sold out, becoming the most profitable act to have ever performed at the stadium, even outselling the likes of Shakira? Point is, for the most part, her team know what they're doing and they won't send her anywhere that she might not sell out. Maybe they feel that this is the right time for her to finally tour Greece. Their economy is a bit better and Gaga's had 4 albums worth of hits in their country but has yet to tour there. That'll equal good sales, just like we saw when she toured all those new countries with BTWB. Obviously, when you live somewhere that most artists never go to, when anyone does do a date there, everyone wants in on it, even if they're not the biggest fans. It's something to do and it's a piece of history that you can say you were a part of. Applause and DWUW went to #1, Venus and Dope went to #2 and the album went to #4 in Greece. That coupled with her previous career success could mean huge fan and general public thirst to see her live. Especially considering it could be the first and last time she ever goes there.
