Re-posting this one after a handful of posts were warned for being off-topic:

__________________________________________

Succeeding off-topic and flamebait posts will be warned accordingly. Sole updates from other countries, such as CANADA, UK, SPAIN, FRANCE, GERMANY, JAPAN, et.al should be posted either in their respective threads here in this section or in the Random Charts & Sales Convo Thread.

Discussing about artists which do not have any current material in the charts such as MADONNA among others is considered off-topic. And for those who want to constantly post updates from other artists, please make sure that it's being done for comparison purposes (with G.U.Y.) only to remain on-topic. It should be noted that the main focus of this thread is to track G.U.Y.'s performance in the Billboard charts, including US iTunes and its radio updates. If you deem what you want to say isn't about that, then the Random Convo Area will be the more appropriate thread for you to share.

Hoping for everyone's cooperation.

I wish she'd do some decent promotion for it. I really do think she needs to do another performance on television for it.

I was really rooting for this song! :( I wonder if they will release a new single. It was all so promising to begin with, the video is one of her best! Why didn't they promote it right?

they should have send the song like 3 weeks before the video on radio, then release the video after imo.

now, its in the 500s on itunes, and maybe that's why radio is not giving it a chance.

On a positive note, I've heard G.U.Y. like 5 times on the radio. I only heard Marry the Night once. I also wanted to say that I don't think we should give up on it yet. It's falling on radio but it's just been added to the AT40 so that may help it. I mean I just heard it yesterday on radio. I have a feeling that the tour will really help the single too! If a station is giving away tickets they will most likely play the song!

I wanted to say something about "Birthday" too. I think it's difficulty to watch the video a second time will hurt it. I mean it still doesn't even have as much G.U.Y on the first day even with all that radio support and 3 days later.

Probably. I just think they wanted to get a video out ASAP because of obvious reasons. I definitely think they've given up and just want to make the tour a success now which is why they're being so quiet about it.

makes me so sad that DWUW could have been a smash with a video, and now that G.U.Y. is one of her biggest "flop". sorry to use the term flop but i don't call that an underperformance and i think we all agree.

a lot of missed opportunities in the US

I agree. I think we should continue to support it until we hear otherwise from Gaga or Interscope that another single will be released. For a song that is really nonexistant on any chart, it's getting a good amount of radio play and is now in the AT40. Continue to support, request, and encourage others to buy the single.

Giving up just shouldn't be in the cards right now...

Yea, the whole DWUW situation is really painful, because with a great Terry Richardson video....it could've made the song go top 5 in my opinion (it did really well for a song with no video) and possibly it could've helped album sales and kept Gaga on track. That missed opportunity is so painful....especially right now.

Yeah  especially in Canada where it peaked at #3 on the canadian hot 100 WITHOUT even a video!

anyway let's stop this discussion cause its out of topic

Do you guys think G.U.Y. can still climb on the US radios ? maybe during the week?

It depends. It's kind of in an odd position. Now, let's be real: G.U.Y. has never heavily impacted the charts. Despite that though, it gets spins and airplay on the radio. Not an overwhelming amount...but kind of disproportionate to how it's selling.

If G.U.Y. is to make a recovery...it can't just be on the fans though to request it, tell others to buy it, get views for the music video, etc. Gaga really has to do something better to promote it. That's the only way I think it can get bigger.
