Applause will have no problem in reaching 3x platinum Still about 2 years to go for that though I was asking this question because I wanted to know how much these singles contributed to the album sales and how much GUY needs to sell to see a noticeable rise in album sales. I think that with a Top 40 position for GUY, the album will sell about 4-5k a week in the US which is pretty bad but still better than nothing. Had they released GUY a few months ago, the album would be selling about 10-12k a week with a top 40 position, and the top 40 position would've been much more likely since the momentum for the era would've still been there. Oh well. This single will be a struggle all the time, but in the long run will have okay sales thanks to its (likely) longetivity. That's what I think will happen.
