Depends on the country. Usually it's like 1:3 in Mainland Europe and Japan (albums:singles), 1:15 in the US and Canada, 1:5 in the UK and 1:8 in Australia. Of course it can't be really measured like this, but it's nice to make expectations like that. Applause didn't help sell the album that much because it peaked long before the album release. What it did was make casual fans aware that Gaga was releasing her new album it also depends on other things like genre, gender of singer, fanbase size, season, etc.. But this is what I use.. So I think that GUY isn't helping the album much atm sales-wise, but GUY should go up and the album should, too.

I don't really think they wanted to promote the single, the main reason why they performed last night was to promote their tour!
