Luc 4,775
A Gypsy tour video and bye bye ARTPOP imo. Not even that. She's broken so many promises, why not another Gaga should just promote the tour where it needs promotion: Prague, Antwerp, Australia, Lisbon, Athens... She can't sell out those arenas/stadiums at this pace. She needs to do some kind of promotion. Now there probably isn't enough time to promote, so it wouldn't be the best idea. But she should really try something this summer or so. Some big international promo, or perhaps commercials re-airing 1 week before the actual tour in cities where it's not sold oud yet. Eh, most of the tour stops are going to sell out or come close to it! There is no reason to focus on a handful of the dates. If there are a few arenas where she doesn't sell out, or even come close, she just doesn't. It's not the end of the world!

Is there anything else to do besides rehearse, rest and tour for Gaga from now till November? We know she'll be in the studio all night exhausting herself for making demos for the hundreds of songs she writes, but why not do something useful? I get that it's only a few shows, but I'd like to have a completely sold out tour. There are 7500 tickets left for the Prague show (~50% sold out), promoting never hurts. She could do a simple (free) radio interview and the ticket sales would already have a huge boost, or her team could get a commercial air the week before the actual tourdate to build hype. Rehearsals and touring aren't useful? Yes, I'd let those few dates develop however they develop. They could run some commercials or something. Other than that... whatever. What's she doing until November? I don't know. Her manager hasn't told me everything she is doing for the next six months. ;) lol

The same way most people in this thread would have thrown away her SNL performance and ARTRAVE for the satisfaction of 30k more albums sales to top Katy. degenerate 526
I agree that the current chart situation is Gaga (the persona) related, rather than music related. I think Gaga's self-promotional insistence upon linking her music to a philosophical stance that (according to her) was going to elevate ARTPOP into the realms of the iconic (reverse Warholian effects notwithstanding) alienated all but her steadfast fans. However earnest her inquiry into pop, fashion and celebrity as legitimate performance art phenomena, Gaga lost human touch with the general public. Her exploration didn't make people feel uncomfortable with a truth revealed, say, that concerned them and their worlds of beliefs and actions. Her antics at the ARTPOP launch, for example, made people feel uncomfortable with her self-absorption. Her various staged appearances wearing stage costume (including stage nudity) were not alarming or mysterious. She came across as devoted to a meaningless self-sensationalism. ARTPOP itself was not full of creative rebellion, originality or innovation lyrically or musically. Its themes were not new, cohesive or indeed coherent. It warranted its metacritic score of around 64%, on a par with other concurrent pop diva albums. It should therefore have obtained as much chart and sales advantage as they did (and do) but the public cannot read Gaga's stagey persona, they are repelled by her lack of warmth, and they think she has come to believe that her talent is infallible. Many of her fans seem to think that too. Fame can have that effect. But hey, as Gaga pointed out to Perez, she is a star. She is incredibly wealthy and can afford to think and act however she likes. She has a loyal fanbase. ARTPOP has sold well enough, and who cares if it has not 'slayed'. Naysayers and doom-merchants can go sulk in a corner. She is getting ready to take the touring stage and THAT is her first love! :applause:

FGGrayson 9,670
I'm tired of people trying to blame Gaga's image or promo, instead of realizing there is a dance-pop recession impacting all the girls. This, is not about Gaga, they actually played Applause & DWUW a lot, and people are loving her again, idk 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻

FGGrayson 9,670
You and most here seem to forget the fact that she had serious issues with her manager and that their separation happened in October/November which is when the album got out... Gaga is everything BUT lazy... 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻
