iTunes Pop Chart

80. Lady Gaga - G.U.Y.

It's better to watch the song's progression on the iTunes Pop chart right now due to all the cluttering of new releases and country awards since this chart will exclude a good majority of those. Will give us a better idea if the song is really increasing or not.

Mariano

obviously but the lowers songs are afected

yes but my initial point was that G.U.Y. is lower than it should be (with the Video promo etc..)  and these 40 places doesn't matter, not because of the songs that increased because of the Country Awards (well its a reason) but because G.U.Y. is lower than it should be anyway...

We can clearly see that G.U.Y. is positively affected when it's supported by radio, but still it's lower than it should be...

I'll try to explain this again... People freaking out about the song seriously need to calm down.

326. Lady Gaga - G.U.Y.

822. Katy Perry - Birthday

Before someone jumps down my throat about this, I'm NOT pitting Katy and Gaga against eachother. My point is that they have basically the same radio airplay and G.U.Y is basically no longer getting a boost from the video. It's getting what... Maybe 500K views a week from the US? That's nothing and a big amount of those are fans rewatching the video anyway. Katy's songs seem to always do well and even Unconditionally went top 15, so it's a good bet that Birthday will too. If we use Birthday as a way to guage how well G.U.Y is doing then you can see it's doing just fine with its measly airplay.

I agree. The problem is if radio will actually decide to support it. :emma:

Exactly! Music boards will tell you to not even expect to see a radio spin to iTunes affect until a new song gets to, at the MINIMUM, 10 million A.I. This would especially be true for singles that come later on in an album's era.

To make a somewhat long term prediction, a single really needs to be closer to the 20 million mark. (overall- including all formats)

There simply aren't enough radio listeners, who have heard G.U.Y. enough times, to base a conclusion on at this time.
