Well actually I still think it was very bad :rip:

Lets start with the USA... obviously her least successful single, the Hot 100 presence was very weak and short, also the Pop radios ignored it... I mean even even Judas went 15 and Marry the Night 14 on the Top 40 chart... It was also shocking to see an obvious dance song to stall at #4 on that Hot Dance Club Songs chart. I mean OK, with DWUW the label ***ed up with releasing the remixes too late, but with G.U.Y. they released those dance remixes just in time, so I just dont get it.

In Europe the biggest markets are the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland... Never charted in most unfortunately. Now it looks like it was a hit in Belgium, but actually its just the Tip chart, which means it didn't manage to debut in the top 50, and they placed it on this Tip chart, which is pretty much a Bubbling Under list... It also charted in the UK and France, but... omg those are horrible peaks. Easters Europe is really much the only place it had better peaks, but those are airplay charts. Her star power still helps her to be played on the radio, but its not necessarily because the public liked the song... Maybe Croatian and Bulgarian monsters can tell us whether it was a popular song there or just radios gave it one or two weeks when played heavily and then realised its not doing good and dropped it afterwards... Also I have no idea about Israel whether its a relevant chart or not... obviously the upcoming tour might have helped it, the label maybe had a radio deal there to promote the album. Nice to see a number one. :) The top 10 in Greece is pretty cool, but I'm not sure about the longevity there... at least that was based on sales and not airplay.

Other worldwide chart performances were also catastrophic... I thought it will be a hit in Brazil, especially when even Marry the Night went number one there, but not even charting? Also no presence in Japan? Its nice to see it charting in Australia, but obviously its not good there either. Her other big supporters Canada and even South Korea ignored it...

DOn't underestimate Judas. Other mainstream artists would kill for the sales-views and impact of the song and it didn't even get airplay. I don't understand how can someone even consider that song a flop MTN did OK for a 5th single as well. It was a flop for Gaga obviously but still more than ok for a 5th single.

A third single at best peaking within the top 50 among only 2 major music markets is plain bad. And then there's the sales, her worst sales to date for an official single. At every angle, G.U.Y. just performed horribly commercial-wise. If there's a single that truly bombed in the charts, it's G.U.Y. and I like to consider it as her first one. The peaks of Judas are far from embarrassing to be really labelled as a major "flop", and the sales/chart peaks of MTN aren't that bad either for a fifth single.

I think Judas should be Platinum by now?

#3 ARTPOP (JP)

It is less than 50k away from Platinum but id doesn't make any difference really, it's a small number. After all Judas wasn;t that much about sales but because of the impact it had. Everybody wnew Judas back then and many people remember it till today.

It's probably pretty close to it already. I'm guessing around 955K-965K by now. It sold 120K within a span of 23 months from October 2011 until August 2013. And that's because of the latter part of the BTW promo in 2011 and the first few dates of the BTW Ball Tour in 2013. But an additional 40k-50k soon for Judas won't be a problem, considering TEOG sold 68k in a span of 7 months (from August 23rd of 2013 - March 30th of 2014) while You and I gained 51k within the same time period. Billboard only gave an update for all of her singles which crossed the million mark back in March, and that's why the last available sales update we have for it (940k) is still the one from August 2013. The space performance next year could give the trick with the hope that the media mileage could boost all of her past singles.

Will the space thing really happen tho? That's the real question...
