Honestly, how C2C will go is so unpredictable. Tony's most recent english album did really well, especially in Anglophone markets. Gagas last album did okay in the biggest markets and quite well in Latin America.. We'll just have to see, I guess

but my predictions for the unpredictable:

First week: 120k US

10k Canada

20k Japan

15k Australia (higher than ARTPOP :emma: )

10k UK

240k WW (gotta remind ourselves of the fact that jazz doesn't really sell that well in many places)

After 1 year:

500k US

80k Canada

100k Japan

160k Australia

100k UK

1,5M WW

Hopefully it does more. What if it pulls a Bublé/Adele, and the C2C album becomes a Christmas must-have? :rip: diamond cert like Lady Gaga :legend:

A Jazz album would never do 100k in Japan. Won't even go close. I would be surprised if it sold 30-40k in total there.

Gaga's last album in the US opened with 258k and Tony's opened with 179k. There's no way they'll be doing 120k together  I'd be so disappointed. But it can go either way. I'm hoping for 200k.

As for Canada/UK/Australia, you're asking for insane longevity if it was to sell in total 10x times its debut sales.

1M in total would be okay.

There will be a lead single, but I doubt it'll go Top 50 on BB Hot 100. The most successful song of Duets II (with Amy Winehouse hype) has its highest peak on a chart at #9 in the Netherlands, it peaked at #87 in the US and #40 in the UK. And that with all the hype surround Amys death ( :( ). I don't think it'll sell well at all, but it might become one of the best selling jazz songs in years :P

At least we'll have something to track on charts  :zilla:

It's released well before the holidays season and can get some GRAMMY promotion...

I don't really know how it is in Japan. Gaga has a huge fanbase there, and many Japanese fans are hardcore collectors. I think she'll sell 10k from those alone.

As for the US, we have to lower our expectations. Gagas fanbase has - again - declined, and she's gotten a lot of bad press after the ARTPOP release...

I'm not sure about that tbh

Are they going to release lead single or what?  I don't know how things work in jazz world :emma:

i think it's Norah Jones with Come Away with Me

That album has elements of jazz, but it's still mainly pop with country influences too. The one from Miles Davis, a jazz musician, on the other hand is considered pure jazz. And I just checked it again, it's indeed considered as the best-selling jazz album of all time. Here's a press release. Just shows that even at its peak, jazz barely sells records - lowering any sales expectation for C2C then. Half a million sales WW for it would already be golden. But that's not my prime concern, it's the potential GRAMMY noms and even wins which it might get.

The power of the leak.  :legend:
