IFPI counts shipments, which is how many copies have been bought by retailers. And that is 2,3 million copies as of a few months ago. MediaTraffic estimates actual sales (people purchasing the album digitally or physically) and that is why the number is lower.

 

Either way, the album has done ok considering the awful management, the messy releases and the fact that Gaga hasn't promoted ANYWHERE apart from the US, the UK and Japan.
