Bye 3,947
Applause and DWUW were the right steps to winning them back. At my school, she's become edgy again, sort of like she was when she launched before the mega success of JD.This underdog thing works out when she has the music to back it up and I think that Applause in particular provided that for some people in my experience.Perhaps, my experience is different than yours, however. People I know just don't give her a chance.
Essence 237
Perhaps, my experience is different than yours, however. People I know just don't give her a chance. that's unfortunate. I actually got a lot of my friends to get into songs like Aura and MJH which are pretty out there. Even one of my friends who is a HUGE Gaga hater really got into Applause. If the media stops tormenting her like they did with so many artists before, then her blooming success and edginess will be in its prime again. NewYorkCity 10,536
We need Z100 and KIIS to put it on power rotation. They took a few week to make that with applause right? And it had a lot of longetivity... let's hope they do it again now
Bye 3,947
Yeah, maybe I am being overly optimistic. But when I look at the down times for other great or high impact artists there was definitely a 'come-back' sea change in their careers. I think over-exposure is a real thing and real problem in these media drenching times. I hope the GP runs true to form and re-evaluates Gaga with warmth and acceptance (even if not with understanding). Seems to me the GP only remains in anti mode with celebs who are constantly in trouble for d--gs and bad behaviour. i.e. Logan, Beiber, CB etc. Gaga is in only in trouble for being 'too famous for her own good'. lol And for being pretentious, an attention *****, one who has to hide behind freakish costumes to sell her music. (GP's words not mine of course). About the media, yes, I'm now seeing what you were saying. Looking at the SXSW reviews and media exposure it seems (apart from the Demi debacle) the media really praised. Hopefully such articles will increase whenever she's in the limelight again and slowly people might rethink their opinion of her. For now people still react negatively. that's unfortunate. I actually got a lot of my friends to get into songs like Aura and MJH which are pretty out there. Even one of my friends who is a HUGE Gaga hater really got into Applause. If the media stops tormenting her like they did with so many artists before, then her blooming success and edginess will be in its prime again. What izlazaz has said the media (like they did with SXSW) will help Gaga if they don't insist on being overly negative all the time. I'm happy one influential media site Forbes mostly has nothing but praise for her as do Billboard and MTV. But it's the news sites that aren't celebrity oriented that reach the general public. Hopefully those will change their angle on Gaga as well.

Bye 3,947
Even if GUY flops, we still have its amazing video We do, I watched it again today (don't watch it a lot, not nearly as much as I did Applause) and it's wonderful. Same experience here, and I totally agree with the underdog theory. What's needed is a kickass comeback performance, something simple not overly complicated. Think her dressing in Versace clothing (like the black dress with the hood in Paris) and performing a piano ballad or even something totally different like ARTPOP at Swinefest. A simple but vocally powerful performance of a song that will resonate with everyone.

EGOT2027 10,894
I've been staying away from the charts, but now I'm wondering....how is G.U.Y. doing on both radio and in sales?
Doot 2
it promoted roseland? why though? i mean... all of her shows were already sold out and the place is closing The only public performance of the song was on Letterman. Otherwise, it was radio interviews that basically no one heard. And the stations arent even really playing the song. The only time this has happened and the song smashed was with Telephone. I think she maybe performed that live once or twice if my memory serves. But Telephone was much more radio friendly, and the album was selling like hot cakes, and she had just come off of Bad Romance. Plus, Beyonce. I really don't know how to answer that... Under 9M Al on radio, around 600 on iTunes, it rises to like #450 then falls to #600 again...It still doesn't have the support from the bigger stations...
