I am REALLY REALLY interested on how well will Birthday do... Not because it's Katy, but because Uncle did worse than expected and I don't want to count Dark Horse because that was an obvious hit right after the album was released..

Only 800k in the 18-49 range.....

well, they choosed where to premiere it. Like all the other things they choosed that Katy team didnt and yet some of the people here almost blame Katy s team that she didnt put the video one day after she announced the next single.

Im in the point where I still expect to see why the handle GUY in this experimental way.

passing a song outside of the top 500 on iTunes is not an achievement by any means :toofunny:

well passing a song that has it's video released been added up to radios and already received TV performance and tons of interviews JUST with a lyric video is :awkney:

Katy and Gaga don't have the same exposure now though. Also the songs have the same AI so the radio interviews don't count since they aim exactly on that.

I still have hope GUY is one of those songs that need time to build up on the radio and on the charts....

maybe birthday won't be #1 but it will be a top 10 for sure!
capitol will wait for it to have a lot of radio AL, tease the video with a preview, then drop it on youtube on the first day when billboard count the views (i don't remember the day). top 10 for sure tbh.

as for G.U.Y., i think the only thing that can push the song is radio support and performances on TV (the voice and so on) with G.U.Y. top 40 on pop, stations might play it more
