Males are selling singles, females are doing much better on streaming platforms.

Rather Be is currently taking off in the US, it's already #33 on US Spotify.

Spotify's popularity increased by about 60% in the past week in Brazil. Nice!

Males are selling singles and albums. The streaming stats aren't going to make a huge difference in the US, not the way they are using them for BB at this time. If you look at the top 20 on Spotify in the US, the males still have more songs than females.

It is an overall trend in the U.S., the fact that males are dominating album sales and now even single sales, and that genres outside of dance pop are overtaking the Pop charts. These trends have a direct impact on Gaga and the type of music she is putting out at the current time. Gaga and her music is a hard sell, to say the least.

I still think G.U.Y. can be a hit..  But seriously if this song with that video flops (which means peaking outside of top 20) I ..  I don't know..

Honestly is GUY flops, she should stop the carnage. Just doing her tour and prepare her next album (not Act II)

To me GUY flop = end of ARTPOP. Honestly if it flops that's the sign that people really don't care of ARTPOP.

Sadly...

Gaga should market less to the US, I think. It'll probably be Holland 2.0 with male:female airplay and/or sales  only 2/3 out of our Top 40 are male songs, and look at the playlist of the most popular station here - quite a high amount of Alternative/Rock songs: http://watiseropderadio.nl/zoeken///3fm

She should promote more in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Mexico, where females tend to be more popular than in other countries.

Tbh the only thing worth melting down over is that Gaga spent so much money on that video what with filming at Hearst Castle and all. :ohno: I get that it's her problem and not ours but it's still sad how under-appreciated she is these days while people flock to other crap.

Eh, that would be a rather silly meltdown.

We got an excellent, highly enjoyable video! It was eight minutes long and included a couple of (partial) songs, along with the main song. Gaga looked amazing and the visuals and storyline were highly enjoyable, for the majority of the fanbase. She also had some very good dance sequences in the video. It reignited some interest in the album, on a worldwide level, and was a good way to get some interest in her new single. The majority of the reviews of the video were highly favorable.

Seriously, what's there to meltdown about? It didn't cost us a penny and we got an enjoyable video to watch!
