Have You Ever Forced Yourself to Like A Lady Gaga Song?

Gosh, yes!  Teeth!!  I used to not really care for it when I first heard it, although I always liked that primal beat.  :music:  Then, I saw her perform it live on the Today Show back in July of 2010.  It became one of my favorite live performances from her.  Everything about that show was spectacular!  :sara:  I was always astonished how just a performance could transform one of my least favorite songs to almost my favorite song and all-time favorite performance.

I used to not care for GUY, but then after the video, it transformed the song for me -- and I love it even more since I understand a bit more now about the video's meaning and imagery.

Born this way was a struggle. I eventually gave up and choose to believe that album as a whole didn't exist. It was also hard to get into beautiful dirty rich, even though some of the lyrics are stuck in my head

I wouldn't say "forced" but there are definitely a couple songs that needed time to grow on me like BTW and Applause. But if I really dislike a song I'm not gonna force myself to like it (case in point: J&D :lolgaga: )

I would have to say Dope.  I still am unsure on it but at least I can now find an appreciation in it.

Electric Chapel however is a song that I will never like. :awkney:

Nervous Unicorn

Fashion! was hard to like. I can stand it now. There's no luck for Alejandro, though.

MANiCURE and Fashion! were my least favorite songs from ARTPOP, but Fashion! has grown on me and MANiCURE sounds great when I'm driving. As for Jewels N' Drugs, I try to like it but I only listen to it until Too Short's part comes up. I try to like Sex Dreams but after too many "Damn you were in my s-x dreams" it gets annoying and repetitive. As for Donatella, the instrumental is cool, but the lyrics are .. embarrassing.

Moving on, the only song from Born This Way I "forced myself" to like was Highway Unicorn, because it was always the song I skipped, but after the Born This Way Ball, it totally changes what it feels like to listen to it. Still, my least favorite song from the album.

And last but not least, The Fame. I've always thought that Paparazzi is overrated, I like it but I don't love it. There are songs that I just decided to skip every time they come up like Boys Boys Boys, Money Honey, I Like It Rough, Disco Heaven, The Fame and of course, Summerboy, and I still do.

Now that I read the title of this thread again, the only songs that I've really forced myself to like are from ARTPOP. I love Aura, but I have a hate-love relationship with the vocals. Venus, still growing on me. Swine is amazing, but too loud.
