I would've preferred Venus as a sinle, but I like GUY a lot. It's not generic but its sound is nothing risky. I think people love risky Gaga (aka PK, BR, TEOG sounds), it's probably why they think it's gonna flop. People will be like 'doesnt' sound like Gaga!'

That's funny to me because when I listen to G.U.Y., I hear Poker Face and Bad Romance and even Scheisse all wrapped up into one fresh ARTPOP era song.

Venus, on the other hand, sounds nothing like Poker Face or BR, let alone Scheisse.

You know what it does sound like to me, though? Lol it kinda sounds like Judas...

I completely agree G.U.Y sounds like BR+PF combined!

Everyone's happy about G.U.Y. being the 3rd sinlge as it is the SAFEST choice for a HIT. However they love Gaga because she is supposedly a RISK-TAKER and doesn't care about the CHARTS!

Make up your mind guys!

G.U.Y. is not the safest choice and besides, picking album singles has nothing to do with being a "risk-taker" as an artist.

Gaga never said she didn't care about the charts, she said she didn't write for them. If she did, she wouldn't have the lyrics, collaborations, or themes she has on most of her songs and she would be using Dr. Luke or Max Martin as her producer for all of her songs. All of her album art would be "pretty and glamorous", (just like you prefer) but she chooses not to do that.

We don't know yet. It could still be a trilogy, including Temple

Or this whole thing is a cover up and really it's a new songs

Maybe she played GUY and Venus on the set intentionally so that we wouldn't know that it's Act II songs

REACH FOR THE STARS!!!

I'm reaching with you! Temple all the way!!!

You really think the GP thinks this in their heads?  Hell no!  If anything they want basic and catchy!

Actually Gypsy is the most predictable and safest choice.

Gypsy is safer but only because its the best song on the album and everyone loves it  :legend:

as long as i get a video im happy with any song tho. people getting mad or saying GUY is too safe is stupid and not gonna change anything so just get pumped up for the video in 2 days!!!!!

What I think is the weirdiest thing of all is that gaga still refuses to actually acknowledge that G.U.Y is the single?

Looks to me like she's avoiding the subject, which looks very suspicious.

Can we talk about this? :crossed:

Come on people... G.U.Y. is not the safest hit here. It isn't the most risk song to release? No, it ism't. Does she have to release Aura to prove she's an artist?

Gypsy, DWUW and even MANiCURE are waaaay more safe than G.U.Y.

She never said she doesn't like to be on top, she said that she's not always looking for it. And it is pretty obvious, you just hace to see her lyrics, colabs and producers.

And she would be doing her thing (as she wants to) and her art without caring about charts even if she released gypsy, since it is her song and she put it in the album. She wrote it, produced it and she liked it (if not, it wouldn't be released, and have a lot of examples of that situation).

Stop bashing G.U.Y. saying it is safe, basic and predictable because I can't see any song on the top40 that sounds like this one.

Are we hipsters now or whats the problem? We need it to flop and not to be a hit material to think is good?

I tought we were staning for one of the most commercialy succesfull artist of our generation...

Didn't anybody tell them that Gaga will show up to explain that due to some unbelievable reason she decided not to finish the video.  :flop:

I'm glad she's no longer trying to make Venus happen. She had some fans on board, but the public were NOT here for it. Yet she still kept promoting it even though it wasn't even an official single. I'd really begun to fear that perhaps her new management were a bit too optimistic and were making it an official single as she clearly liked it so much. But she moved on and listened to audience research and so we have G.U.Y. It's nowhere near my favourite song on the album, but it's songs like this that she needs to get her more popular again. And with a music video upon its release, this could be one of the greatest choices ever made. Her old habits of releasing a song and then waiting a month until the video hurt her chart performance so bad. This is going to be a phenomenal way of stating that she's back and not messing around.
