Applause. Before I knew it was structured as a Haiku, I thought it was a generic peice of ****.

 

It's not structured like a Haiku. Song writing 101 is to first get words, then put them in a meter, and then count the syllables in each line. You want your stanzas to match up for the most part, so your melody isn't all over the place. Not everyone writes music this way of course, (some people hear the music first, then the words come to fit) but it's what they teach in music school, and it's the easiest way. 

 

Lines of fives and sevens are a common fixture in poetry and song writing, that doesn't make them haiku though.

Oh haiku "style." I don't know what that is, but I guess so. Classic haiku is 5-7-5 and no rhyme scheme. Whatever.  :redface: We're  both right.
