LordDisick 1
Ok ,so i live in Savannah and i've been begging my mom since december to allow me to go stay with my uncle in downtown Atlanta so i can catch the Phillips arena show .However my mom(who is a minister(and yes homophobic)) is determined to also attend the show if i go.Now if u all know gaga the way i do,its inevitable that there will be s-x,d--g,and homoerotic references throughout the show and i NOT out...yet.I really want to see the sow. What should I do? dont let your issue with her hold you back from attending an amazing concert/experience you wont regret

LordDisick 1
If you get floor seats, there's more "tame" people there if you end up wanting to go with your mom. It's GA where people are really flamboyant with their costumes. I don't think your mothers' eyes will survive the things she'd see in GA. i couldnt believe how far people go with their outfits i thought that was only in NYC
Raw 0
If I was your age and in your shoes I would be too scared to go so I would miss the show. At some point in your life you more than likely will come out to your parents and you will think back on how you missed the show. So its up to you if you want to save yourself some time about coming out or be able to say you were at artRAVE 2014!

Haus 152
You don't have to come out like other people are saying. Make it out to be an opportunity for you to become an independent person. Say that you're going to be 18 in a year and she has to begin to trust you. You can have her give you a curfew or even have her pick you up. Going without her knowing is not a smart idea. If she HAS to come, get a GA ticket and get her a cheap nosebleed. That way she isn't spending too much money if/when she feels revolted, and it isn't like she can come and drag you out of the GA pit. Well, you can't go by yourself because you're underage. You have to be BRAVE and tell her that you're Gay/Bi and be happy Err yes he can I went to the Monster Ball when I was 13 and the only person I was with was a friend of the same age. Pierre 10,480
Watch some shows before yours, and in the parts of the show like Alejandro (of course that part will have homoerotic things) or parts where your mom may be shocked you try distract her, or go to the bath, for a drink, idk. ❝Is not blue, not turquoise, not lapis. It's actually cerulean❞.
VforVendetta 2,024
The show has nothing to do with your s-xuality Do you really believe that all those people in the concert will be Gays and Lesbians? I am straight and I would go to the concert anyday. Just tell your mother that the show is also talking about many social issues including homos-xuality and that Gaga is a big supporter of the LGBT community. GagaMyBlood95 9,915
I would NEVER go with my mom on any show lol Idk, your mom is probably different, but you'll have to decide eventually..Maybe prepare her by letting her watch the BTWB or the MB? 5 Threat 5
Inb4 your mom is a monster and she wants to go see artrave, but she can't go cuz she's a minister,so she uses that as an excuse to go see artrave. :laughga:
Slojo 51
Show her The Monster Ball DVD and that Liza Minnelli and Paul McCartney are there having a good time so a Gaga concert isn't a bad thing Tell her that there are lot's of issues addressed during the show but the main thing is that all sorts people are coming together just to have a great time and that as a minister she should be encouraging everyone to live together in harmony :) If she wants to walk out after the first song tell her she can wait for you in the coffee shop
