Psychedelic 1,098
You're entitled to your opinion, but don't say I can't like the performance. I loved it. Too bad. Get over yourself. Secondly, everything you said was fine. Your opinion. Until you were saying she looked heavy and didn't care. That's a bad thing?? ****, I'm glad she gives no ****s. And too bad if that's not the Gaga you fell in love with. It's the Gaga she is now, so if you don't like it, leave her the **** alone and stop being a fan. I'm pretty sure she, nor anyone else will care. Her and her "ugly-makeuped face" and her "overweight body" will keep on making music and blowing people out of the water, whether you like it or not. Jeez, you get over yourself, I didn't say it's a bad thing she gained weight, but at least she coul've worn something that flattered her. Yes I miss FameGa that was all about glamour, pop music, fahion and good visuals. It all seems to me that this whole 'I don't care' attitude is a tantrum over the fact that ARTPOP did not go as expected. It's good being yourself, but not be confused with ego. It's not like she can do whatever she wants, she needs to listen to some advice that her record label and some other people, I'm pretty sure, are giving her. And leave this 'f you' attitude for her own good.
My Little Phoney 658
Trying to find a video of the performance in full but I'm turning up with nothing. :( If anyone finds a download link to the performance or a youtube link to the show in full, please post! It's on the Gagadaily homepage
Psychedelic 1,098
can you do US A FAVOR and gtfo, THANKS AND IT WAS FAKE PUKE SO GET REAL....the liquid wasnt even in HER BODY LONG ENOUGH....and last time I checked gaga is not the ONLY ARTist to do crazy **** for her art ahh I want to rewatch the performances but everythings blocked :( oh and if you stand for "THE FAME GAGA" liek you say, you stand for her puke film intro...yeah thats what I thought Dude, it's not the same having a video with a puke visual, than doing it live. But if you stand for that, that's ok, I can understand that some look at this like an art statement. I know that girl makes painting with puke. But sorry I myself didn't like it. And I'm not doing you no favor, I'm not getting out, if you can't stand an objective, different opinion, guess what? you're doomed! You have to accept criticism to grow as an artist, and that's exactly what Gaga needs to do now. And some of us too.

ARTists have been doing crazy **** for "their ideal of ART" FOR CENTURIES so STOP ACTING LIKE THIS IS SOMTHIGN NEW...peopel will talk about this long when gaga is gone like how we talk about Van Gogh and him cutting off his ear...for most people thats the only thing people know about Van Gogh... Whispering 18,865
The performance was awful, how can some be so blinded by fandom that still defend this trash? ............................................ Not to mention her attitude, the way she looked, her make up was bad, she looked heavy, she's definitely gained weight and she doesn't give a F, which is good, but that isn't the LG I fell in love with during The Fame era, "F pop music" really? really? like really? You cand defend her to death, doesn't matter, I'm being objective and it's NO LIE (and pretty obvious) she is digging her own grave. Because many fans and many in the media actually liked the performance. It's that simple. Everything you stated were your personal opinions, and many don't agree with you. Should be easy to understand. Gaga looked good. Her make up was fine, she isn't a Barbie doll. Who the **** cares if her weight fluctuates from time to time? It's not like she had rolls of fat and cellulite everywhere. Her body looked good. You have unreasonable expectations. "FameGa" was four years ago. She has changed and moved on, but you haven't. You've had FOUR YEARS to come to this realization, but you want to hang on for FOUR YEARS so you can be miserable. Sounds like you are the one here with the problem, not Gaga! Oh...you are being "objective" about Gaga? Really? That's a first! ;) Edited March 14, 2014 by rarigoes
Kayla 7,595
Gaga's body looked AMAZING. It always does, but her ass was faaaaaabulous.
Kayla 7,595
ME...ME!! It was ****ing amazing! So proud of her! I didn't get a chance to watch the performance until this morning, but some of the comments from fans last night did not match up with what I saw with the overall performance. First of all, Swine is one of my least favorite songs on ARTPOP (sorry Swine fans :( ), but I'm always open to growing into liking a song as the era goes on. I'm not into the whole vomit scene and it challenges me to think about the message and the song in a different way. So...it's kind of confusing, but I think it was meant to be just that. TBH, the meat dress freaked me out more than the Swine performance. Gaga has been doing these kinds of statements since the TFM era, it's nothing new. Other than that, this performance was exactly what I was expecting from a Gaga festival performance at SXSW. The atmosphere at SXSW is not about a pretty pop stage. It is raw, real and often times experimental. Gaga's performance was what suited the environment and was exactly like she said- going back to her roots. It was rock and raw and it was fitting she included her friends, who have been with her since that time. Gaga's performance made perfect sense in this setting and I'm glad she is the type of artist who isn't scared to explore and present all the sides to herself! As always, I'm proud of Gaga and proud to be a fan! That's a good thing to note. Had she done what she did for the VMA performance at SXSW, it wouldn't have fit. (Similarly, had she done a SXSW-type performance at the VMAs it wouldn't have fit) SXSW was a good place for Gaga to have fun with the grittier, dirtier, grungier side of her music and personality. I know some people are bothered by the performance and way she was on stage, but I hope people can realize that it's just one side of Gaga. If people want ClassyGa, GlamGa, PopGa, PrettyGa, etcGa, those parts of her are still there and there will be more times in the future that you see them, and we've also got footage from times in the past where she's emulated those things. Also, in the keynote afterwards she pointed out how her label kept telling her to "be beautiful." If people are seeking "Beautiful Gaga" without the dirt and grime, they're asking for a version of herself that not even SHE wants to give us. If someone wants Gaga to hop up on stage and be beautiful and glamorous, that's fine, but they need to realize that's not all she is. She's so much more than that, and we should be thankful that she's giving us these parts of herself too.

Do you remember Gaga at the Swinefest or the ARTrave? Yes that isn't FameGa, still it's a true pop artist wanting to make a statement thru true art, talent and lovely visuals. What I saw last night has nothing to do with that person! NOTHING!!! Edited March 14, 2014 by Acid Monster

This! As soon as Millie came out and started drinking the liquid I called it that she was going to puke on her. It was actually the most exciting and interesting setlist Gaga has done in a really long time....I LOVED IT. **** pop music and the machine - Gaga has ALWAYS broken the mold of what it is to be a popstar. She is not Britney spears - barely a recording artist, she is a MUSICIAN, A SONG WRITER, A PERFORMANCE ARTIST. Gaga is what the world needs. Kayla 7,595
No, I', not the one with problem. Do you remember Gaga at the Swinefest or the ARTrave? Yes that isn't FameGa, still it's a true pop artist wanting to make a statement thru true art, talent and lovely visuals. What I saw last night has nothing to do with that person! NOTHING!!! Look at how she was acting on stage, though. When Gaga gets all reflective, emotional, just bounces around on stage almost haphazardly, talks about her friends, etc. THAT'S when she's feeling like herself. The show was messy because she wasn't being calculated, she was just letting loose. She'd been surrounded by people who love music all day, and even in her tweets you can see that she was being inspired and was just happy to be in that type of environment. The visuals weren't "lovely," but not everything about Gaga is. Gaga showed us, even you, a grungier side of herself at SXSW. It's not as pretty, not as polished, and there was no disco bra to reflect light off of. But for the part of her personality she was showing us, she KILLED that stage. It's fine if you want glitz and glamga. I like that part of her too. But you seem to be very negatively emotionally invested in putting down what she did at SXSW. You don't have to like it, you don't have to prefer it. But instead of going on about it being "trash" or saying that last night had "NOTHING!!" to do with Gaga as a "true pop artist wanting to make a statement thru true art, talent and lovely visuals," you could instead just go back to watching the performances where Gaga is showing off her pretty side. We've seen PrettyPopGa for MAJORITY of her career. Let us have fun with DirtyRockGa and try not to get so worked up over it.

But in both instances it was the same performance, yet one is perfectly acceptable and the other isn't? Why?

It's fun and good being different sometimes, showing a dirtier (literally) side of yourself at times. But vocals could've been better. I guess she made that up with Gypsy and Dope. Still not really into the whole performance tho. It was okay for the festival, but I really hope she has something more classy (without bing Gaga) for the artRAVE Tour.
