HANZ 4,380
I just watched the swine performance for the first time LOL I loved it My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
craig 680
That isn't the Gaga I used to know, the glamorous, designer-dressed one. Kylie will give you that consistently, but Gaga never has. We've seen her look like a rock chick many times (2010 on tour espescially), and covered in fake blood and dressed like a man and doing MANiCURE in a lumberjack shirt. They co-exist. one side of gaga isn't replacing the other.
GagaSkeletonWay 2,080
How is that disrespectful to us? I'm not "pop music", and neither are you. I say so cause we've been"fighting" for pop music, "POP MUSIC WILL NEVER BE LOW BROW", remember? That's what I'm talking about.
ModernEcstasy 8,582
People seriously need to accept that some liked the vomit art and others hated it. If this world didn't have different points of view, it would be boring. Have some respect for each other for crying out loud! I disliked the Vomit, but I have accepted it happened and also understand what it symbolised. Great idea, but not something I enjoy watching. Nemo 4,230
Guys anyone have idea how was the audience in gaga concert... Was it full??? Many more people wanted to get in than could. It was quite a small venue. Those who wanted to attend had to go through some weird stuff to get access, but nevertheless it was packed. Galactastica 309
i won into the show, it was the absolute most packed i've ever been in that venue, hands down. it only holds 2,000-2,500 people and impretty sure they pushed it to the max. I do know that when Swine happened, some people walked out-which i found isulting because everyone had to work for their ticket in some way and that spot could have gone to someone who wanted to be there but couldnt. also, overall it was NOT your normal crowd for one of her shows. i didnt expect it to be given the nature of the show being at sxsw, but it was still very, very obvious. some people thought Lady Starlight was her...for example. i am very, very happy to have won into a once in a lifetime performance. its made national headlines and polarized not only the media and general public but also her own devoted fans. thats a strong artform to push that type of emotion on people at such a small show. You go, Glenn Gaga.
giskardsb 12,565
I have a feeling if GaGa were to find another artist to defecate all over her, you would still defend her and her "art", by the logic of your definition. I defend her right to make art and call it art. The artist defines their own art. That doesn't mean I have to like it, but I'm not going to say it isn't art. I might consider it bad art, but it's still art. Some art is actually designed with no other purpose than to disturb people. It's an opportunity to explore why we are disturbed. Shock art is art. Art is defined by the creative intent of the artist. Nothing more. Edited March 16, 2014 by giskardsb
Katie14 4,828
Not to mention her attitude, the way she looked, her make up was bad, she looked heavy, she's definitely gained weight and she doesn't give a F, which is good, but that isn't the LG I fell in love with during The Fame era, "F pop music" really? really? like really. Are you really critisizing her weight? I am so sick of her own fans calling her fat. She gets enough **** from the media and the gp. Gaga is not naturally skinny. I believe the way she looks now is her healthy natural state. Why should she have to workout everyday and watch every calorie just so she can fit society's sick mold of what it means to be beautiful? Who has time for that? Why is any of that necessary? Wouldnt you rather her be spending her time writing, creating, and inspiring others than trying to achieve a body that she isnt meant to have? It takes constant work and effort to try to maintain a weight under (or over) your body's natural setpoint. Its exhausting. Did you fall in love with a Gaga who conforms, who is a perfectly skinny polished pop confection? That is not who Gaga truly is. The fans who like that look and want her to look like that again need to get over it. She looks great right now.

MonsterMum 2,532
I have a feeling if GaGa were to find another artist to defecate all over her, you would still defend her and her "art", by the logic of your definition. The definition of art is "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power". The definition of art is not "something pretty that I like". So yes, it is art.

Nothing more. I see. We'll just stick with calling the whole spectacle bad art then. Nothing wrong with that right? The definition of art is "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power". The definition of art is not "something pretty that I like". So yes, it is art. Defecating is definitely a visual that will elicit disgust from most, as for the minority I'm not too certain … Whether it will be appreciated, I highly doubt it, but there's the minority factor so … The only thing I find hard to digest is that you are suggesting that there is certain amount of creative skill and imagination involved? Perhaps at a minuscule level?

J e s s e 454
How is that disrespectful to us? I'm not "pop music", and neither are you. It's completely the same. The only difference is the arty black and white film adding a layer of imaginary distance. But it was the exact same experience for Gaga, as well as for Millie. I don't understand this complaint at all. They seemed fine to me. (Of course, I hate the pre-recorded backing tracks, but that's another issue.) What's your evidence that this describes anyone? It was in full colour though :flop: "They have as much in common as dinosaurs and goldfish: the cracker kind!" - Penelope Garcia
Nemo 4,230
It was in full colour though Yeah, strike that part. :) So, it's even less different.
