It doesn't mean Gaga does not mean what she says. She truly believes in her work just like many of us. And this is the case regardless of wether or not her albums are successful. No one on the planet looks at Born This Way as an album fighting for female rights (what the ****?)She said "equal rights", not "female rights". And, I think pretty much everyone on the planet (besides you?) would regard that as the subject of the song "Born This Way", yes (if not necessarily the whole album).
