New group Girl Hood is an ahjumma version of Girls' Generation?

Seems like the latest trend is to put ahjummas (older women) in a girl group.

Girl Hood is debuting and getting a lot of attention as people deem them a parody of Girls' Generation.

Girl Hood (pronounced "so-nyuh-shi-jeol" in Korean) are anticipating their debut on March 25 with "Darling, Honey, I Love You" and consist of beauty contestants with an average height of 170 cm (~ 5 feet 7 inches). The oldest member is 37 years old and the youngest is 29 for an average age of 34.

Although they're being labeled as an "ahjumma group" the members look quite young in the PR images.  However, all members are actually married and Koreans tend to call women ahjummas once they wed, which explains the label!

Meanwhile, you can check out one of their teasers below for the song "Before It's Too Late"!

Girls’ Generation to Conclude Promotions for ‘Mr.Mr.’ on March 30th

noooodontgo.jpg?73fc59

SM Entertainment has announced that Girls’ Generation will end promotions for “Mr.Mr.†on March 30th with a goodbye stage on SBS’s “Inkigayoâ€. Despite a short promotion period, Girls’ Generation thrilled fans with a series of exciting performances, beautiful outfits, and hilarious encore performances on Korea’s weekly music shows. Girls’ Generation also appeared on multiple talk, music, and radio shows, including “Radio Starâ€, “Healing Campâ€, and “Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbookâ€.

Girls’ Generation made a long-awaited comeback on March 6th with “Mr.Mr.â€, which has since won nine times overall on various music shows. The song marked an all-kill on Korean music charts and also topped iTunes charts around the world. The mini album also ranked 110th on the Billboard Chart. Finally, the “Mr.Mr.†music video, despite a delay, became the first K-Pop video this year to reach 10 million views. After its release on February 28th, the music video currently has over thirteen million views.

Yeah, I think so.

Probably because it was a mini album, and they return to Japan next month for their 3rd Japanese tour.
