ultra blue is my favorite too! i prefer her japanese music too (except sanctuary  )

do you understand japanese? ive started to learn korean but  :fail:

really????? omg awesome! to answer your question, she had been relatively quiet for a few years even before her hiatus (as far as i know) but once she announced that she was leaving, practically every news channel reported it, reviewed her past songs, touched upon it in one way or another. everybody missed her  :(

Yeah there are a couple English songs I really like (especially "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence-FYI" and "This One (Crying Like a Child)") but most of them are just... not up to the standard of her Japanese work.

I took a few years of Japanese classes back in college, but unfortunately I didn't keep up with it so have forgotten most of it :smh: I'm kind of annoyed with myself, since I want to travel to Japan someday. I'll have to relearn some of the basic "getting-around" stuff haha

This month was the 15-year anniversary of "First Love," wasn't it? Was there a lot of news about it? I know they released an anniversary edition.

hi hyoyeon invited me here from another thread (thanks!!)

i'm japanese and i currently live in Tokyo so i'm surrounded by jpop (and kpop to some extent)

i enjoyed listening to SNSD and BIGBANG when they were marketing in tokyo around 2009/ 2010. there wasnt a day when i didn't see them on tv but it has calmed down since then (probably because of the korea vs japan island thing)

i've always been a HUGE fan of AKB and i grew up with utada.

other artists that i listen to in moderation are perfume, hatsunemiku, tokyo jihen

EDIT: oh and i love the mr. mr. video!

Hey!! Sorry, was offline for a little while :haha:

OMG :udidnt: I'm so jealous

I'd love to visit Japan one day!

What's the Korea vs Japan Island thing? :duck:

That's cool! I hope that you stick around and chat with us!! :sara:
