PoshLife 16,905 Posted June 9, 2014 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Amuro Namie's 1st best-of ballad album tops Oricon weekly ranking with 1st week sales of 255,000 copies Amuro Namie's first best-of ballad album titled "Ballada" (went on sale on June 4) sold 255,000 copies during its first week, topping Oricon's latest weekly ranking in the process. This is her 7th consecutive chart-topping album, and 12th overall, since "PLAY" (released in June 2007). The first week sales for this album exceeded Fukuyama Masaharu's "HUMAN" (released on April 2, first week sales of 213,000 copies), therefore, it is now the album with the highest first week sales for a solo artist in 2014. It is also the best-selling album for 2014 for a female solo artist. I wonder if that's domestic or international sales. Usually when I tweet a celeb I don't tweet them directly like "@____ when are you coming out with new music?" more like "Listening to #HairShort by @_____. Wow, hope they come out with new music soon!"
