J=J is amazing, but their lyrics....

omg I know, I just don't pay attention to what they're saying haha

I love how towards the end of this song (like 3:30) they try to riff but it doesn't work at all, like they're just saying the lines in a different pitch than they'd be singing it :toofunny:

The fun and quirky Orange Caramel return with 'Catallena' MV

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Med2XipHJJM

Orange Caramel are back with their new song 'Catallena' and its music video that will leave you scratching your head at times at their quirky nature but also surely smiling and laughing along!

The girls, known for their unique fun concepts, have taken on the theme of seafood this time! Comedian Kim Dae Sung (known for dressing as a woman particularly in 'Gag Concert') seems to be playing an evil character who is priced much higher than the girls as an octopus, while the girls are forced to go on sale for a 3-for-1 deal.

So what are you waiting for, check out the MV above!

So do you like the song? @Posh

I do! It's no "Bangkok City" but it's fun and pretty catchy after two or three listens. I know it'll grow on me more, I just have to find a download haha. I also love the music video... and I also love sushi :')

Edit: omg it's on iTunes US! So I can actually buy it! Wow that almost never happens haha!

I'm glad you like it! And I know how you feel - I only started listening to KPOP a few months ago, so it's like every week I'm finding out about a new artist. It's great to find all this cool new music!

And welcome to GGD, by the way!

So... They ate themselves? :sharon:

I saw a really interesting interpretation of the video on allkpop... lemme find it:

The point of the video is throwing shade at other (typically smaller) kpop artists. Catallena represents someone with a stable price which represents fame (most likely someone like Snsd or 2NE1) the smaller fish are going down in price (aka their popularity) so they try to become flashier and flashier (like most s-xy concepts these days) in the end they get eaten up because they were never meant to be expensive (aka stars) That's why they are crying because they've been eaten (their careers are dead). In the end there is just Catallena. Something I took away from this video is that you need to stay true to what you are or else you'll be "eaten up."

So they are saying that they flopped? :toofunny:

I'm not really sure how I feel about the video haha

I think the point is that if you sell yourself out like by trying to be s-xy or doing whatever the public wants you to do, then you'll end up getting "eaten alive". I think.

I like the video, I think it's a cool concept. I mean the meaning is kinda weird but the actual visuals and stuff are cool.

Orange Caramel's "Catallena" comes with two other songs - "So Sorry" (which I don't really like), and "Cried Uncontrollably," below. It's really pretty - it might actually be better than "Catallena."

the only thing that bothers me is the bridge is really good, but then it just ends - there's no third chorus. Maybe I'll request an audio remixer add one on?

I find the idea of the video is very interesting, but correct me if i'm wrong.. the song isn't related to the interpretation you found on allkpop
