Haroon 49,685 Posted February 24, 2014 Share Posted February 24, 2014 no! we need the freedom to mock and criticise all forms of authority. it's an innate quality in freedom. plus, you can't actually blaspheme if you don't believe there's anything to blaspheme. i shouldn't have to modify my actions just because somebody has decided that it's "offensive". it's offensive to me to be told that i mustn't mock things that i believe are hokum. waiting for the petition for that. Sure freedom is fine and great Being disrespectful on the other hand is not I'm from the school of thought that even if you don't agree with something, that doesn't mean you're allowed to mock it. Sure go ahead and criticise, but there's a line between criticising it and just downright being disrespectfulwhen they're calling for censorship, death penalties and who knows what other dampeners on freedom, they certainly are not worthy of my respect. and when they maintain such an influence and control that i do not think is due or productive i also don't give my respect. the mocking of hilter during war times was very useful for morale.
