I don't see the issue here. She turned the guy to dust because of his inadequate gift, not because of whatever beliefs he might have had.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

So accurate... Waiting for her Edge of Glory where she makes a bad/simple/video on a budget of a great song, her country video and disappointing single spot waste :derpga:

This conversation :sharon:

I don't like Katy or the video but even I am rolling my eyes at this. If people don't like it, don't watch.

The real issue here is how much of a rip-off it is of Michael Jacksons Remember the Time video...  :toofunny:

symbols mean only what you ascribe to them. they are inherently worthless.

I don't believe the necklace is a symbol, it's the word "Allah" written in Arabic :duck:

I never even noticed that in the video :rip:

Nobody even noticed that........ I'm sure the filmmakers chose this piece of jewelry solely because it looked exotic. Ridiculous and hypocritical petition: as soon as pop deals with religion, it's like there HAS to be some kind of controversy. Remember how the Judas video was "controversial" even before it was released? Religious narrow-mindedness at its best.

People are viewing the turning him to dust thing as the actual denouncing from Western Culture/Hollywood of Islam

we're all supposed to be sensitive about and censor (!!!) things that might upset (for no sensible reason) some religious people's feelings. i'm not sorry if a necklace being burnt makes a group of over a billion people feel oppressed. there are better things to worry about than dictating what we should be able to display.

sure it is, it's the symbol for their god as creating an image of him results in the death penalty or hell or something.
