If somebody doesn't put a lot of work and effort into something that is not dedication and talent imo. I tend to not like basic musicians anyway. I don't like basic pop stars. Artists that are called basic by some on GGD are actually providing a service because they are bringing joy and inspiration to a large number of people. I live outside the space time continuum. I personally loved Gagas performance of DWUW on The X Factor, after she performed Venus and then it was just her in a more "casual" performance for DWUW. Something that is or is perceived as basic could have an emotional effect on somebody that another person may not understand, and vice-versa. It just depends on what matters to you in what you listen to. And if it has more widespread appeal, then so be it. I don't think everything that's appealing or "basic" is necessarily "bad", no.
