craig 680
As a Kylie fan, one thing that kept for going over 25 years is that she's found and kept talented team members like William Baker her one-time stylist and then creative director, and Steve Anderson her musical director. She's been working with them almost 2 decades. Her original manager recently retired after 25 years. But Kylie can't be slaying the charts every time either, so her negative fans like to moan about "why doesn't she fire her team and get new people for something fresh." As if creative people only have one good idea in them. Eras like The Fame or Fever only come along once or twice in a career, regardless.

As much as I get sick of her team at times, they have reinvented her over and over without losing the authenticity of her. As for the original post I think it is quite apparent that Matthew is spot on. There is no denying that she had a powerhouse team during TFM and it has all fallen apart. HausOfMiklaus 1,803
I'm happier now. Because I actually just want Gaga – sometimes her own vision gets lost with the "dream team" around her. I am a fan of her.
Brown Eyes 0
This does explain how her looks, visuals and aesthetics went from expensive and detailed looking, to cheap and tacky almost overnight
PaperIz 7,346
Eh I think it's more about what Gaga wants. It would help if she had better people to help her execute her vision better and not let it get so jumbled or just say yes all the time, but she doesn't really need anyone but herself to be successful. I mean if all these people she worked with are such hot stuff how come we just know them because of Gaga? I just don't like the attitude that she needs someone else to be on top. sobercool 0
Reading what he said, it's no surprise the team has been disarming itself over the years. They already had very different backgrounds, visions and views in life before they met. Their coalition was casual and obviously maintained in everybody's willing to compromise and trust one another, which only worked for a few years as each party started feeling less attached to or more conflicted with the whole project. Wow and to think every single member of that team Dada mentioned is gone now. Only to be replaced with their assistants.
HANZ 4,380
OK, this is my view on the topic: During TF/TFM era Gaga was hungry for success, she was starving. You can hear it in interviews, she talks about hard work, and passion and doing it for the art, and how much she suffered, and how much she still has to give... She had a fire. She worked hard, was smart, met the right people, had the right outlook, references, inspiration, ideas, friends... Her people/record label/managers saw this. They supported her by giving her the best people to be around her. They gave her their all. Because she was selling so well and doing so good (both her own merit and a good team). It all worked fine. Until, the people around her felt that Gaga was taking all the credit, (you know how she likes to let the public know how involved she is... which I don't doubt I just feel it makes her team feel bad). Come BTW, TEOG... these people (LAGibson...etc...) start telling her what she should and shouldn't do, how and when and why... not because they were egotistical but because it was their job. Gaga, feeling on top of the world right off the success of Bad Romance etc... decided not to listen to them anymore (and I guess she was right, you should not be a slave to what people tell you to do aka Britney Spears...) and things started derailing since then... The same happened with Troy... he was just doing his job, he probably wanted Gaga to sell herself out to this supermarket, world promotion tour, interviews, events, sponsorships etc... to promote ARTPOP, just like he has done before, but Gaga felt she didn't need these kind of tactics anymore of course she is THE Lady Gaga... Plus now she has Taylor, which grounds her down... she has money, fame, fashion, beauty, famous friends designers, video directors, artists... what is keeping her going... well... I feel that not much is! Especially after being operated on and suffering with that and with addiction and trying to cope with fame... In a way its really good she has Taylor, he is keeping her sane, human... which she is, she is just that: Human. I am in no way dissing Gaga or saying bad things, I just feel she needs to find that fire again, find the humility in herself to let other people have input on her work, not let them take over, but at least listen to them... be humble and fierce. ARTPOP for me is a great record, I listen to it everyday and music wise it's really cool... I feel. But yeah, the lack of fantasy, accompanying it, Gaga's 100 percent commitment to it (instead of going to Galas and fashion shows... being depressed, being with Taylor and doing other stuff at the same time as "promoting" the album... during TF/TFM era EVERYTHING she ever did was related to the album... she worked really really really hard.) I feel all of this has kept ARTPOP from being what it should have been, pop amazingness, global domination, performances, ideas, interviews, fashion, trips, tour etc etc... Anyways, don't worry guys, its Gaga, she is amazing, she will get her **** together how she always has and do what she feels she needs to. Let's trust her. true dat My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
Charlie 246
This just proves that having a team, is essential to moving a brand, any brand forward. It seems that the only individuals on her team are Donatella, Terry Richardson, Marina, Tara, and Koons. Most of which have their own businesses and art projects on their own. Before, it seemed that her team had nothing to lose, but everything to gain, so HUGE risks were taken. Paparazzi VMAs?! The Monster Ball 2.0?! (Attended and cried when she slayed) Telephone as a prison music video?! etc etc. Crazy risks that shook up an industry and had a pack full of artists trying to mime her tactics, but fell short. It seems her team now, are trying to play it safe, secure, and predictable, which is very anti-gaga.(Applause VMAs... it was underwhelming to say the least). When I think of Lady Gaga, I think of the times she was VERY brave, and very bold, in her artistry and her music. It was intoxicating and memorizing to say the least. She mentions money as a limitation to her work, that the individuals that are working with her are looking for a larger cut or compensation. That making art is the most important aspect. Look, I respect you Gaga, but everyone has bills to pay. We all work very VERY hard to make ends meet and psychology is driven by incentives. (See Freakanomics as a reference) Long story short, I really think that Lady Gaga had to eat a huge slice of humble pie this era. I look forward to being absolutely MOVED by her music, art, technology, message, and performance. Lady Gaga is more then just music, she is an experience, that is what will always set her a part from the rest. That is what will be in the hearts and minds of the Monsters forever: The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP (in its entirety), and every era thereafter. Love and ART fav song: lady haha — no floodz ft adele
gunther_btw 1
idk but maybe gaga is too egocentric right now that she thinks can do everything on her own thats the way i think since TFM .i always admire her cuz her creativity that way she deliver her ideas but while the BTW era was ending she started to fired people maybe for a good cause (because we dont know what is going on her team)but since then everything was very messy .i hope she finds a great group of talented people like the beginning . I'm pretty sure that's why she fired most of them, lol. I mean did you see the original VMA concept that she wanted to do, but MTV didn't let her do? I wonder if there were any Haus members (aka Troy) who didn't want her to do something potentially disturbing for a big comeback performance. When someone is at their peak and has everything to lose, THAT is when people who once supported your every move start getting obsessed about losing it all. That is when brave, bold artistry is lost. Remember when Laurianne Gibson said she left the Haus because she thought that Gaga was getting to "dark?" I don't want Gaga working with people like this because it limits her. If people want her to do bland, safe things because they are afraid of losing money they need to gtfo. It drives me nuts when people say "Gaga only wants yes-men in the Haus and needs to be more humble" because those "yes-men" are exactly the people who will fulfill her crazy brave visions. Tokyo Rose 1,475
Just appreciate her work with these people for what it is, instead of demanding she work with them again like little brats. It's her life/career after all, not yours. She can still be great without all these people. Just give her time and let her do her thing.

Zae 1
I'm praying that the day will come when people move the f**** on from TFM Truthfully, when she has another brilliantly executed project. Born This Way got close but the ball got dropped because of poor planning.
